Moog Defense Sector is looking for a Project Engineer for an onsite role in East Aurora, NY.

Reporting to the Product Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing engineering support to manufacture and assemble electronic components, circuit boards, and cables for development and production. You'll also play a key role in the manufacturing and assembly of electronics development and production hardware.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other related engineering discipline.

  • Working knowledge of electronic and optical products, including top level, sub-assemblies, and component levels

  • Working knowledge of electronics and fiber optic assembly and test areas, including working with technicians

  • Working knowledge of electronics and optical system test and measurement equipment

  • Willing to travel domestically up to 15% to support projects.

  • Experience collaborating at all levels of an organization, customers and/or suppliers.

  • General knowledge in areas of Root Cause/Corrective Action, Project Planning, and Data Acquisition and Analysis

  • Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Contractor Security Clearance.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and schedule production assembly/test equipment, fixturing, tooling for initial production start-up.

  • Initiate original production assembly/test instructions.

  • Provide initial training for production assembly/test personnel.

  • Establish tasks and schedules for Product Engineering and supporting departments, personnel during product transfer into production.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of all design principles associated with assigned products.

  • Maintain product design integrity.

  • Identify areas for producibility and quality improvements in production assembly/test and product design.

  • Initiate, evaluate, and prepare product design changes.

  • Organize, coordinate, expedite Moog material and personnel resources for solution of identified problems.

  • Provide product design support and guidance as requested/required to other Moog operating departments.

  • Initiate timely changes in design and production assembly/test instruction/equipment, to maintain and improve schedule, cost and quality objectives.

  • Provide timely information to all effected operating groups regarding potential problem with schedule, cost and quality.

  • Anticipate schedule impact of planned design changes and provide advance notice of future plans to effected departments (eg. Production Control, Purchasing) to insure schedule requirements are maintained.

  • Function as the customer/vendor contact for all technical questions.

  • Maintain close contact with Moog Sales and Program Management to insure "no surprises" when talking to their customers.

  • Travel to customer/vendor facilities, as required, for solution of mutual problems.

  • Collaborate with customers often to develop technical solutions.

  • Prepare and issue Engineering Reports.

Salary:

  • The base pay range for this opportunity is $90,000 - $105,000 per year.

This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.

Actual salaries will vary depending on many factors such as skills, experience, certifications and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
