This position will be responsible for mechanical design and associated project coordination/communication. The successful candidate will require the knowledge and skills to provide Project Engineering for all disciplines of work including; Process, Packaging and Facilities.
This candidate will play an integral role in the development and success of the Irvine office. It is imperative that this candidate have a very well rounded background and a "can do" attitude. Versatility will be a key attribute of this person as they will perform a very wide range of engineering task including but not limited to the development of:
Process flow diagrams
Packaging equipment layouts
As built general arrangements drawings for any and all aspects of a manufacturing facility
Facility conceptual arrangements (non-licensed)
Contractor scope of work documents
Contractor bid review, leveling and recommendations
OEM scope of work documents
OEM bid review, leveling and recommendations
Assistance with client proposals
Assistance with client presentations
Single line electrical drawings (non-licensed)
Equipment FAT development and execution
This position requires a working knowledge of unit operations, process flow diagrams, piping & instrument diagrams. In addition, it will be valuable to understand; material handling methods, equipment sizing/specifications and utility/facility definition requirements.
This position requires a strong working knowledge of packaging equipment including equipment sizing/specifications as well the activities required to effectively communicate and manage OEM's. This position requires strong analytical skills, basic understanding of project management fundamentals as well as strong computer skills (AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project).
Candidate needs to possess effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. This position requires an individual who is a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
Minimum 5 10 years of industrial project engineering and design experience
Specific experience with Life Sciences is preferred
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering is preferred but consideration will be given to other engineering degrees based on actual project experience.
One of the primary goals of this position is to help ensure a steady flow of business through the Seattle and adjacent offices. In the event that business in Seattle does not support full time local work, this candidate will be expected to travel 20 80 % of the time. This travel will be required to support development, design, installation and start-up activities, attend client meetings and company sponsored training. The vast majority of this travel will be in the Western Regional marketplace.
