Your day to day as a Project Engineer

As a Full Time Project Engineer at Kinsley Steel, Inc., you will work closely with the Project Manager to ensure a seamless process of fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck for assigned projects. You will utilize your keen eye for detail as you read specifications and blueprints to determine the locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required. With your exceptional organizational skills, you will create and establish schedules that encompass all stages of the project, from preconstruction planning to closeout procedures.

Your ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with other project contractors will be instrumental in maintaining the schedule, delivering materials, and resolving any design conflicts. Additionally, you will utilize your expertise in the BIM process to coordinate the steel package with other trade contractors. Your attention to detail will shine as you prepare, review, and maintain critical documents in both hard copy and electronic formats.

To excel in the role of Full Time Project Engineer at Kinsley Steel, Inc., you should possess a strong set of skills and be comfortable utilizing various software and tools. Proficiency in reading and interpreting specifications and blueprints is essential, as it will allow you to accurately determine material requirements. Strong organizational skills are crucial for creating and maintaining project schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

Effective communication skills will enable you to coordinate with other project contractors and address any design conflicts that may arise. Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software is highly advantageous, as it will facilitate the coordination of the steel package with other trade contractors. In addition, you should be proficient in utilizing document management systems to effectively organize and maintain critical project documents.

Are you a recent graduate in a construction or engineering program, or do you have similar experience in general construction? Do you have a 2-4 Year post-secondary degree?
