MDA Ground Test Project Engineer
Improve Army Weapon system through performance analysis!
ABOUT THIS POSITION
KBR is currently seeking a project engineer to support the development of air and missile defense systems. The candidate will be part of a team performing engineering support and analysis of army weapon systems and simulation performance for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Ground Tests, Flight Tests (System Pre-Mission Test and System Post-Flight Reconstruction), and Continuous Developmental Integration activities. Candidate will be responsible for coordinating team activities throughout all phases of the MDA test events with the government customer. The candidate will oversee the development of test scenarios, simulation integration analysis, test execution support, data analysis, and generation of Ground Test Mission Data Review briefing packages. The candidate will assist with the development of material to be presented at engineering reviews that summarizes the analytical work performed. During this process the candidate will communicate progress and schedules and coordinate key reviews with the government customer. Other activities include assisting the government customer with the coordination between the analysis and test execution teams and providing weekly status reports to the government customer.
The ideal candidate should be a problem-solver, resourceful, independently motivated and detail oriented, and work in the office every day. The position requires good time management capabilities, communication skills, and computer skills.
Relocation: Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or able to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or other STEM related fields (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.) with 5+ years of experience or a Master's Degree in degree in engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or other STEM related fields (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.) with 3+ years of experience.
2+ years experience in Air & Missile Defense (AMD) Weapon Systems, and/or MDA Flight Tests/Ground Tests
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Possess or be able to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with AMD or MDA weapon system data analysis
Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on prescribed schedules
Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations
Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to build solid relationships with team members, leadership, and customers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences large or small of varying technical knowledge.
