Project Engineer II - Roadway

The Opportunity Sambatek is currently seeking a Project Engineer II to work with a team to execute transportation engineering projects. As a project engineer, this individual will be responsible for the design and development of project documents.

You'll work on a variety of signature transportation projects for major metropolitan areas, such as: corridor studies, layouts, roundabouts, urban reconstructs, and more. We offer specialized knowledge and creativity to County and State clients, working together to find optimal solutions for ethical, sustainable, and appropriately-sized projects. Our goal is to maximize the impact of tax dollars invested in these initiatives.

Work Location: Hybrid, flexible work options The qualified candidate will: Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes Participate in quality review processes Perform proficient CAD drafting in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and Open Roads Designer Design and lead production of tasks/subtasks for a task lead/project manager as part of a collaborative team Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering 3-5 years of relevant experience Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering preferred Proficient in basic elements of highway design, preferably with some advanced design experience Proficient ability with Bentley MicroStation and GEOPAK Experience using Corridor Modeling and/or OpenRoads Designer Strong self-motivation and communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to manage multiple tasks on multiple projects with strong attention to detail Ability to mentor entry-level staff or interns with day-to-day tasks Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office environment Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds Sambatek, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.
