DRS Naval Power Systems (NPS) a multi-site operation responsible for $350 million of revenue with locations in Milwaukee, WI, Danbury, CT, Fitchburg, MA, and High Ridge, MO with an employee base of approximately 900 employees. NPS is structured into four Lines of Business: Surface, Submarines, Nuclear instrumentation and Controls and Marlo Coil focusing on supporting the power and propulsion needs of the U.S. Navy. Position Summary

Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget. Ensure design compliance with all project requirements and the DRS Design and Development Process. Project teams are cross functional, representing electrical, mechanical, software and test engineering. The PE will be responsible for the planning and execution for all engineering team activities and will be the primary engineering interface to other departments internal to DRS and the customer as required during the project.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading all engineering efforts for a complex project or projects on time and budget

  • Ensure design compliance with all project requirements

  • Ensure compliance to the DRS Design and Development Process

  • Ability to independently lead a cross functional team of engineers

  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and lead a project team to develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable

  • Develop cost and schedule input for design assignments and new bids and proposals

  • Communicate clearly (both written and oral)

  • Interface with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required

  • Interface with technical management, and support personnel to coordinate, technical activities and track team progress

  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings

  • Mentor and coach less experienced engineers

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 10 years of experience (minimum of 5 years in an engineering team leadership or project management role)

  • General knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines enough to lead engineers on the project team

  • Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to ensure multiple assignments are completed properly and on time

  • Ability to adapt to changing work assignments, schedules, and priorities

  • Solid PC skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Windows, etc.

  • Candidates must be a US citizen and meet DRS security standards as imposed by DoD, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment

Desired Qualifications

  • MS in engineering or MBA is a plus

  • Experience with DoD programs

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee requires normal manual dexterity, speech and hearing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty-five (35) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job require frequent use of a computer monitor.

This position will have experience in implementing new lines of business, products and business concepts. The PM will be expected to manage the scope of the project, resources, and ensure an on-time delivery within budget. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Lead cross-functional new business implementation projects for all lines of business. * Projects will include, but not limited to, new business for national clients, changes to financial models of current clients, new implementations with larger membership, provide responses on behalf of project team for client proposals and RFPs, and other business projects internal to the organization. * Ability to develop project plans from business concepts, identify tasks needed to be performed to demonstrate readiness. * Help to facilitate goal setting discussions with leaders to support the implementation of the project. * Manage communication at all levels of organization on status of projects. * Seek input from key stakeholders on business projects to effectively manage implementations to the client proposal, contract and/or state and federal regulations. * Interact and provide project direction to a variety of staff, including management. * Participate in client-facing discussions in managing the implementations. Provide documentation and plans that are client-facing. * Provide clear and concise documentation that supports the milestones of the project, represents key business decisions made, and obtains sign off from stakeholders. * Identify areas of improvement in existing project related processes, operating mechanisms, and methodologies and work across the organization to implement improvements. * Present and facilitate effective meetings. * Represent DentaQuest in a professional manner at all times. * Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management, Healthcare Management, preferred. * 3+ years experience in a project-management related role, which includes client interaction. * PMP Certification required. * Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Yellow Belt, preferred though not required. * In depth knowledge of managing business projects and concepts through project management principles. * Ability to manage multiple projects, work well under pressure. * Strong facilitation skills and ability to manage business related discussions, influence key stakeholders, and drive leaders towards decisions. * Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. * Ability to initiate and drive changes in process, methodology, and other PMO related areas * Ability to lead and manage resources that do not have a direct reporting relationship. * Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks and projects, and manage competing priorities. * Proficient in using MS Project, SharePoint and other business management tools * Excellent PC Skills. * Knowledge of general MS office computer software. * Previous experience in Healthcare or Health Insurance preferred. * PMP designation is a plus.
