Salary: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $80.5k to $95.5k

Job Summary:

The Project Engineer is responsible for various tasks related to the electrical and civil engineering scopes and supporting construction and commissioning activities for utility-scale onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects. The Project Engineer will work closely with the project team, Engineering Program Manager, and Engineering Managers to coordinate requirements and deliverables with multiple internal and external stakeholders. In addition to having conceptual civil and electrical engineering knowledge and effective communication skills, the successful candidate will be a proactive and curious learner and contribute to a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Support the engineering activities and contribute to milestones associated with the civil and electrical engineering scopes, which may include structural engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, collector substation and interconnect station physical arrangements, controls and protection, overhead and underground electrical lines (medium voltage to high voltage) and communications systems.

• Support engineering implementation, including cost estimating, project scheduling, permit integration into project plans, engineering document control, and other activities necessary during project engineering and construction.

• Effectively coordinate internal and external engineering resources, deliverables, and project documentation.

• Attend project meetings to discuss status, action items, challenges, and risks.

• Support the coordination of the multidisciplinary (engineering, land, permitting, development, etc.) review of detailed project drawing submittals.

• Support the procurement process for external engineering resources, EPC contacting, and major electrical equipment.

• Support the development of EPC contractor bid packages and evaluate bids as part of the procurement process for construction services.

• Ensure that environmental, health, and safety requirements, and cost, schedule, and performance objectives are met.

• Assess the quality aspects of engineering, including compliance with design standards and accuracy of documentation, field analysis and reporting, and test data.

• Support collaborative analysis, special projects, and reviews of projects, studies, and best practices.

• Conduct engineering analysis to reach sound conclusions and recommendations relative to project performance and profitability.

• Promote a safety awareness culture.

Experience / Education

• Bachelor's degree in civil, structural, electrical, geotechnical, renewables, or mechanical engineering or equivalent education; preference may be giving to candidates with relevant advanced degree(s)
• 5+ years in the renewables industry is preferred
• Knowledge & Skills:

Conceptual understanding of various technical and construction aspects of renewable energy projects.

Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to function well as part of a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth, OPC, Visio, AutoCAD, Aconex, and SAP.
