GSE Workforce Solutions is currently working with a stable chemical manufacturing company that is looking to hire a Project Engineer for their growing team located in the Mesa/Queen Creek area starting ASAP!

You will manage and support engineering and technical projects of 1-10 million dollars for their 3 sites, managing projects from conception to completion. The Plant Managers will be responsible for providing direction and overseeing project elements.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates all activities of assigned projects from inception to completion.

  • You will oversee projects supporting the 3 current manufacturing sites. This includes managing all aspects of the project that may contain analog, digital, and various controls.

  • Analyses and manages risks on projects.

  • Determines project schedules by studying project plans and specifications and calculating time requirements.

  • Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project.

  • Manages, facilitates, and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.

  • Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.

  • Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors.

  • Supervises progress of development project.

  • Compares the actual cost of the development project to estimates.

  • Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.

  • Prepares periodic progress and cost reports for leadership.

  • Ensures compliance with codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies as related to safety, building codes, engineering directives, environmental, etc.

  • Collaborates with the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems.

  • Collaborates with engineers from other plants to share problems and solutions.

  • Ensures all project documentation is completed.

  • Compliance with all federal and state regulations.

  • Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline required (Chemical Engineering and or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).

  • 5-10 years of experience in project management, engineering, systems design, or other related field, with at least 3 years of management experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.

  • Manufacturing Plant experience required.

  • 25% business travel expected.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Experience with CAD, CAD/CAM - Must be able to read and understand CAD drawings, electric wiring diagrams, P&ID, and mass-balance calculations.

  • Project Engineering experience with $1 to $10-million-dollar CAPEX projects.

  • PMP certified preferred.

  • Strong Vendor/Contractor management skills.

  • Knowledge and experience with project charters, fast-tracking, and earned value.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • budgeting and cost containment skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements.
