Job Description:

This position is expected to perform with minimum supervisory involvement a wide range of drafting/design functions on valve and actuator designs, casting designs and structured bill of material development. Interfacing with peers, supervisors, design engineers, and other plant personnel is routinely initiated as required on the most complex projects.

Good communication skills are required, as a successful candidate must be able to work with and peers and other plant personnel as needed. Work independently or in a team environment and proven ability to manage multiple priorities.

Requirements

  • Using 3D CAD tools, develop scale design layouts of our most complicated valve and/or actuators for the full scope of our products. The full range of product detail drawings of components and sub-assemblies are made as well as casting drawings when deemed necessary.

  • Develop item masters, structures and Bills of Material; new and revised, covering the full range of Raleigh products for Nuclear, traceable and commercial orders, including but not limited to MSIV's and gas hydraulic actuators.

  • Interpret customer requirements from new and revised orders for Nuclear, traceable, and commercial products and develop Work Requests for Design layouts, casting and detail drawings as needed. Routinely interface with peers, supervisors, and other plant personnel as needed on the most complex work assignments.

  • Assist supervisor and others on the full range of Raleigh products with resolution to Engineering related problems/questions coming from the shop floor, marketing, Purchasing and Planners, pattern shops, field service, plus any other area in or outside the building.

  • Research all necessary records and source data to determine good data and part numbers where applicable to satisfy incoming quotes for the full range of Raleigh products, including MSIV's and gas hydraulic actuators

  • Process on time special project work tasks, Continuous Improvement Process related work, ECNs, and administrative assignments, as assigned.

The Gig… As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for design and development of electrical hardware that will ensure the proper operation of our products. You will develop test methods and devices that will be used to validate the safety and quality of designs to ensure accurate manufacture of all our products. Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge in SW Electrical, AutoCad or similar and experience working with and applying NEC and UL 508a standards to electrical systems design. Job Duties: * Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria * Design, develop, select and test electrical components, preparation of specifications, design of testing equipment, research investigations, and report preparation with support/direction of a higher-level engineer * Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, calculations, procedures, and criteria * Work with other team members to integrate designs, with those of others, in a large scope development project * Provide support for new products through new hardware solutions. Present and recommend alternative solutions by examining such criteria as make-versus-buy, reusing existing hardware/software versus new designs, cost versus benefits, reliability, scheduling, etc. * Manage cost implications of designs * Function as a technical resource to other team members * Maintain focus on continuous improvement through researching and sourcing innovative, cost-efficient business solutions and making recommendations to upper management * Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies * Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or related field * Minimum of 3-5 years' working knowledge of UL * Knowledge of MTR (Manufacturer's Technical Representative) * Minimum of 7 years' experience in progressively responsible positions in electrical engineering * Minimum of 7 years' experience in a design-engineering environment dealing with automotive and/or appliances * Minimum of 4 years' experience with SW Electrical or similar design software * Proven experience in Product Development from concept through implementation * Demonstrated proficiency in designing wire harnesses, control integration, and/or electrical systems used in industrial or consumer products * Extensive knowledge of UL/CE standards and NEC requirements * Experience with PLC based controls * Experience in LEAN environment * Proven analytical skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Solid organizational skills and ability to manage priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks * Proven ability to multi-task on several design assignments at a time Physical Requirements: * Must stoop, bend, reach, walk; perform repetitive motions using hands to grasp, push, pull or do fine manipulations * Required to stand for prolonged periods * Intermittently lift light to medium weight up to 50 lbs. * May perform duties requiring employee to intermittently bend and twist Ryko Solutions Inc Timberlake NC
