Basic Function:Project Engineering consists of the development of systems and associated documentation for specific programs to ensure that the products and services provided meet all contractual and program quality requirements.Perform specific duties associated with coordinating routine or repetitive projects, and assist Project Managers by performing details of more complex assignments. Suggest and implement measures to ensure customer satisfaction and improve performance.

Tasks:

Typical duties/responsibilities for project management may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Review customers' specifications and examine new contracts to ensure thorough understanding and adherence to desired contract terms and conditions. Monitor, analyze, and report on contract performance, and control contract documents. Maintain a centralized project control process and enforce necessary controls to assure maximum project profitability.

Follow guidelines and established procedures to initiate price change requests, apply mark-ups, prepare quotations and implement changes, as appropriate. Under direction, resolve disputes involving back charges, escalation, delays, extras and warranty charges. Report significant problems to project manager for resolution. Prepare releases, waivers of lien and affidavits to allow collection of all payments.

Review and coordinate flow of information among various groups and customers, and implement measures to resolve routine problems, ensure meeting schedule commitments and achieve customer satisfaction.

Participate in meetings to provide information on assigned projects and resolve problems.

Complexity of Tasks: Strong interpersonal skills are required to achieve cooperation and reach agreement with customers and suppliers. Requires ability to evaluate and solve routine problems, and to cost-effectively meet tight schedules while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to Company objectives. Errors are likely to result in loss of time and delay in schedules.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 years of professional work experience

OR

  • Associates Degree and a minimum of 4 years of professional work experience

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 year of professional work experience

Alternatively, this position can be hired at the senior level for candidates meeting the following criteria:

  • High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 9 years of professional work experience

OR

  • Associates Degree and a minimum of 7 years of professional work experience

OR

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 5 year of professional work experience
  • A Master's Degree in required field = Credit given for 2 years of work experience.
  • A PhD/Doctorate in required field = Credit given for 3 years of work experience

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB In the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge in Upstream Oil and Gas including experience with natural gas and/or process gas analyzers is preferred. Excellent customer service skills, self-motivated and technical minded.

  • Familiarity with flow computers, primary meters, spectrometers and other instrumentation products, especially ABB and/or competitor products.

  • Knowledge of chemistry processes involved with gas processing or lab analysis.

  • Ability to read drawings, wiring schematics and I/O maps.

  • General electrical knowledge and mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience in an engineered to order environment is a plus.

  • Good verbal and written skills to assist with process development and implementation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience Salesforce.com and SAP is a plus.

  • Promote teamwork, positive work environment and can-do attitude within group.

  • Promote and follow safe work practices both on-site and in a field environment when required.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
