This position has the primary responsibility for driving new, renovation, and upgrade construction/manufacturing projects for an industrial/manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include managing and driving project initiatives, overseeing subcontractor compliance, project scheduling, cost controls, correspondence, and coordination with manufacturing, finance, sustainability, Facility and other internal departments. The Facilities/Manufacturing Project Manager should be an independent, self-motivated professional with 5 or more years' experience in manufacturing equipment project, equipment automation, construction management, facility upgrades, office renovations, scheduling, estimating and utility construction and have a desire to grow professionally with each challenging project.
Identify, implement and coordinate cost-saving programs or projects in facilities.
Ensure maximized use of our existing facilities and advise areas of opportunity.
Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of projects.
Maintain project documentation, including correspondence and submittals in accordance with contract requirements and procedures.
Follow applicable legislation and ensure the mandatory monitoring and reporting is in place.
Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase or project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
Ensure that the technical integrity and availability of equipment complies with all regulations.
Reviews drawings and specifications prepared by outside consultants for conformance with programs, policies, and procedures.
Confers with project staff (cross-functional team members and subcontractors) to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Reviews status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for management.
Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
Responsible for working with the architects on the development of specifications for all construction.
Represents the company on related planning issues with local, county, state, and Federal and other appropriate agencies.
In coordination with other management staff, develops short and long range plans for company facilities needs by taking into consideration program requirements, production projections, and alternative uses for sites and facilities.
Coordinates and directs the construction program of the company, including preparation of comprehensive contractual documents and compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
Drive Food Safety with supervisors and managers to ensure compliance with all Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Hazard Communication, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21 - Section 110.
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Architecture or related field strongly preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in fields related to facilities planning or construction management.
Certified Facility Manager (CFM), EIT, PE or other facilities management certification desired.
Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Six Sigma, International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) and lean manufacturing initiatives required.
Capital project management and implementation (defining, scoping, analysis, modeling, budget control, supplier/vendor selection, equipment commissioning, FAT's, timeline management & financial management)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Computer skills Microsoft Office skills (AUTOCAD, SolidWorks, MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with multi-level audiences.
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills; ability to effectively work with multi-level audiences and regulatory agencies.
Able to work under tight deadlines in a manufacturing environment and respond to "on call" hours as needed.
Ability to learn new technologies, processes, and business practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
Basic equipment knowledge (HVAC, refrigeration, Electrical & Fluid power, PLC, steam, pasteurization, filing, material handling & warehousing systems).
Ability to analyze, compare, and recommend engineering proposals.

Ability to effectively communicate with others.
Able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (ear plugs, hard hats, coveralls, smocks, gloves, goggles, and other GMP required equipment; hair net, beard net).
Ability to perform physical activities as outlined in the attached Physical Demands section of this position description.
Solid understanding of basic math skills including the ability to count, add, and subtract.
Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and overtime as business needs.
Proactively assist team members, managers and employees as needed.
Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Change Management Adaptable to a fast-paced, shifting work environment; willing to remain flexible to accommodate changing business conditions, work requirements and scheduling needs.
