AS A PROJECT ENGINEER - NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, YOU WILL:
Provide critical thinking and an inquisitive mindset to global development teams to advance technology development.
Support internal / external customers and global cross-functional colleagues by communicating technical and project milestones and updates.
Develop mastery of existing calculators and engineering tools as well as facilitation of creation of new design and analysis tools as needed/appropriate.
Analyze and quantify value vs. applied cost of compression technologies for system development.
Apply high degree of independent engineering knowledge to cross functional efforts in technical development and problem solving.
Conceive and execute development and testing plans based with a mindset towards risk mitigation, and coordinate with appropriate resources for timely execution.
Apply and support the incorporation of Lean principles and techniques into the New Product Development process.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, another technology discipline or equivalent. No prior experience is required.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent presentation, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient in the use of various office computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
Proficient in the use of various engineering computer programs such as NX/SolidWorks, ANSYS, and Minitab.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments with multiple disciplines.
Legal authorization to work in the United States, unrestricted for an unlimited period of time
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Two (2) years of relevant work experience, including co-op terms, in development of electrically driven rotating equipment or similar fields.
Proficient in the engineering principles in the areas of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, mechanics, materials, statics, dynamics, machine design, and/or tribology.
Experience working with and/or implementing lean techniques into the product development process.
Ability to communicate with technical, manufacturing, and business leaders at all levels.
Knowledge of thermodynamics, vapor compression cycle & heat transfer knowledge/experience applied to Air Conditioning & Heat Pump systems.
We offer the flexibility of a core hour work schedule. Employees can flex their start and stop times given they are working during the core hours of 9:00am
