This position is responsible for planning, developing and managing multiple construction projects. This includes facilitating the construction designs, ensuring the designs are implemented with utmost safety and process flows efficiently.


  • Study proposals, plans, specifications and related documents; analyzing labor, material, equipment and time requirements; assembling & arranging numerical and descriptive information

  • Collecting, analyzing and summarizing data & trends to generate conceptual, schematic and hard dollar estimates

  • Complete accountability for specific construction projects from the Pre-Construction Phase to the Construction Phase through to the Project Close out Phase

  • Manage multiple contractors and their time schedules, and maintain continual communications with Customer and contractors

  • Work with state engineers, utility environmental team, independent engineering firms, etc

  • Follow and enforce all applicable safety precautions and programs, and shall thoroughly read, understand, and follow Charah Solutions Standard Operating Procedures for construction management

  • Lead in the development of any readiness reviews required for the project

  • Assist with engineering drawings and layouts

  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management

  • Act independently and originate new procedures and new approaches to problems

  • Display excellent verbal and written communication skills with vendors, customer and organizational leaders

  • Maintain initiative to preserve the flow of work

  • Work under stress and with commitment to deadlines

  • Sustain interpersonal relationships which encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and outside of Charah Solutions

  • Complete projects and/or reports in accurate and timely manner

  • Maintain Company information in a confidential manner


  • Four-year college degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar discipline. EIT or ability to obtain PE registration preferred

  • Familiarity site/civil estimating for mass excavations, embankments, hauling and placement of transported materials, minimum 3 years of experience preferred

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Utilization of computer programs such as Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, and Outlook. Knowledge of estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Project

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to use electronic equipment such as computer, cell phone and handheld radio for communication with supervisors and co-workers

  • This position requires a flexible work schedule: nights, weekends and holidays

  • Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Be subject to loud noises

  • Be subject to atmospheric conditions - one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odor, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation

VIEW JOBS 9/2/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-12-01T00:00 Job Requirements: * The contractor shall prepare scopes/estimates for minor R& A construction projects, answer routine correspondence from all parties and develops necessary memoranda to clients, contractors, etc; the contractor investigates, determines, and coordinates the need for repairs or enhancement projects in Federal or leased buildings; and as designated by GSA personnel, this contractor monitors the performance maintenance or other awarded service contractors' performance to ensure compliance with the requirements and terms of the contract and that the contractor submittals, schedules and other documentations are in place. * The contractor evaluates usage and optimizes consumption of utilities, identifies ways to optimize operational costs, ensuring the provision of quality facility-related services; the contractor administers and monitors expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs, including tracking, reconciling and managing varied financial data for operations and/or ongoing projects; and analyzes and monitors impact on building systems and equipment to determine facility capability in meeting customer needs, prepares, reviews and/or considers life-cycle condition analysis and similar assessments and from those findings, integrates and quantifies requirements into a scope of work for the project. * The contractor shall be responsible to perform inspections in federal space and performs lease inspections and ensures that the lease terms and client needs are met; the contractor performs inspections on a full range of various complex building mechanical equipment and custodial operations in federally owned buildings. * Inspection duties are of a highly sophisticated and complex nature, requiring a wide variety of inspection processes and techniques. * The contractor inspects all equipment listed on building equipment inventory for proper preventive maintenance care by service contractors including, but not limited to heating, ventilation and air- conditioning systems, electrical systems, plumbing systems, elevator and escalators to ensure they are being maintained properly and in accordance with contract specifications. The contractor monitors equipment operation to confirm the service contractor is complying with approved schedules and energy conservation procedures and assists when required in diagnosing causes of failures. * Specific assignments shall be made by the GSA Manager. Requirements: * BS Degree in applicable major OR equivalent combination of education and experience (BS degree = 4 years applicable experience) * Proven ability as the project manager of a technical aspect of commercial or Government interior design or construction projects * Certifications preferred: * Professional Project Manager * Knowledge of systems furniture and specifications, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite and Project software package * Outstanding customer service skills, strong interpersonal relationships.
