A Project Engineer (Electrical) job in Franklin, WI is available through Belcan.
This position is for an analytical, hands-on electrical engineer with an interest in both electromagnetic field simulation and new product development.
You will be responsible for the following:
Collaborating with Designers and Engineers to design new parts and assemblies.
Definition of device and system test requirements as well as preparation of test samples and travel to outside labs, customer and supplier facilities.
Electrostatic field simulation of standard high voltage components such as insulators and vacuum interrupters.
Static and dynamic electromagnetic field simulations of low voltage magnetic actuators.
Participation in or leading of Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) events.
Developing and implementing project plans, which include test plans and project schedules.
Developing test methods, both mechanical and electrical, and working with laboratory personnel to perform tests.
Interpreting, analyzing and summarizing data, identifying trends, preparing reports and formulating conclusions.
Must have the following:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's degree preferred
Experience setting up and running Electrostatic, Magnetostatic, and Electrical Transient analysis in a software package like ANSYS Maxwell
Desire to work hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to operate successfully both independently or as part of a larger engineering team
Relevant Work Experience:
Experience designing and testing high voltage equipment such as reclosers, circuit breakers, or switches. Experience with vacuum interrupters and actuators a plus.
