This position seeks out, investigates and assesses profitable business growth opportunities for the Utility Operations. Directs and coordinates with the General Managers to seek out new leads and follow up on leads brought in by other departments or outside consultants. Influences and works directly and indirectly with other SUEZ employees in qualifying leads and opportunities and pursuing new sales and developer related expansion activities.

Create a pipeline of business opportunities by evaluating and identifying business leads and tuck in targets within the New Jersey, New York, Delaware & Pennsylvania Regions. and presenting these opportunities to the General Managers as well the Utility Leadership to obtain approvals.

Create these opportunities by visiting clients, identifying their needs and developing SUEZ's value proposition.

Coordinates or supports the gathering, analysis and interpretation of client specific data for evaluation of present and future opportunities within Company guidelines and long-term Utility Operations objectives.

Identifies, evaluates and pursues opportunities/ new leads in Utility growth through research, nurturing relationships, using personal contacts and industry association membership and activity to capture new business opportunities

Follows up on leads brought in by other employees, departments or outside consultants.

Interacts with regulatory agencies and staff on relevant policies and regionalization efforts.

Understands SUEZ range of services and competitive strength and is able to articulate the benefits to the stakeholders of target clients.

Prepares materials used in presentations made to potential clients and to Company Consideration and Investment committees.

Extensive regional travel is required to support and identify potential tuck in acquisitions, build key stakeholder relationships, and support efforts.

May serve as a company representative and spokesperson at various regulatory functions and at trade shows, conferences and other forums.

Required Skills

Required Experience
5-7 plus years business development and marketing experience.

Strong knowledge of water and wastewater industry issues including regulatory, financing, and inter-local government management agreements.

Understanding of the workings of municipal governments.

Experienced at political networking.

Knowledge of business and municipal finance.

Who are we looking for? * Possesses broad knowledge of multiple processes and/or engineering disciplines, augmented with good experience and seasoning, to the point where he/shecan address the most complex projects or address the most complex challenges, such as leading a response to an emergency. Under the direction of NJ Engineering Manager, the Senior Project Engineer will develop, implement and manage capital improvement projects for Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants, Pumping Stations and transmission mains and collection systems. Responsibilities will include the preliminary conceptual development, detailed engineering design, construction cost estimation, bidding, construction supervision, startup process, as-built plans, and O&M manuals. The engineer will mainly manage projects and assist operations for the Highlands, Lambertville and Princeton Meadows water and wastewater systems in New Jersey. Incumbent will also assist in the Haworth and Hackensack Network Engineering teams as needed. * Position accountability include: * Prepare preliminary, engineering, and detailed cost estimates. * Manage several mid-sized to very large projects, including network projects, simultaneously. * Prepare bid specifications and coordinate bidding with procurement department * Manage pipe condition assessment projects. * Assist in the engineering review and support of New Business Projects (Water system layout, fire sprinkler application reviews, etc.). * Cover Emergency Supervisor weekly support (overnight and weekend) to support Operations.
