Centrica Business Solutions (CBS) is a global business unit within Centrica, set with the mission to help customers discover and unlock value via the energy-consuming and existing or new energy-producing assets on their sites. In North America, we design build and manage projects from small to large scale in the distributed energy spectrum. We have existing and forthcoming solutions for which we provide development, engineering, and construction services to deliver products and projects across North America for commercial, industrial, and institutional customers wishing to reduce energy consumption and/or generate energy.
CBS is seeking a Project Developer to join our Direct Sales team in various North American locations. Project Developer Solutions, is a crucial member of the Sales team for Centrica DE&P. This role is expected to work broadly and collaboratively across Centrica to achieve an exciting and innovative growth agenda to deliver distributed energy solutions for large energy users. Specifically, this revenue generating role will be responsible for the successful origination through to sales close of complex asset based and project based contracts for capital and service projects for large energy users, often across multiple products, sites, and partners ('Solutions') on a deal by deal basis:
Solutions may include construction, installation, operation and maintenance of distributed energy sources and associated infrastructure such as battery storage, Combined Heat & Power and traditional gensets, solar PV, and other efficiency upgrades. Contracting and structuring methods for Solutions may include financing such as in the form on Energy Performance Contracts and long-term support such as Energy Services Agreements. In addition to deal origination, the Project Developer will be a key part of negotiations with third-parties including customers; and offer critical partnership to Commercial, Delivery and Mobilization functions.

Full ownership and accountability for originating sales leads and prospects, working with Marketing to participate in trade shows, industry talks and other sales presentation opportunities
Leverage existing network and build new pipeline of Solutions and energy efficiency projects
Work with executive team and peer development team to manage the project pipeline and develop forecasts
Help to deliver client communications, joint collateral, and strategically manage joint events
Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales
Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding and dynamic environment
University degree (business or engineering preferred)
MBA or financial equivalent preferred
4-6 years commercial and/or sales experience preferred
Strong B2B business development experience including complex deal structuring and negotiation
Excellent executive / customer presentation skills
Sound understanding of both commodity and non-commodity-based energy products
Strong financial and business analysis skills
Strategic thinking and ability to identify market potential for significant business growth
Collaborative senior leader capable of building close working relationships with peer groups
Deep experience working in a large/global company with matrix structure/relationships
Resourcefulness and ability to work with limited supervision
Flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Superior academic achievement at a top tier undergraduate program
Graduate degree (MBA) preferred
