Position Summary

As an Project Designer/Job Captain at DLR Group you will be responsible for applying your architectural design skills and leading project teams in the realization of award-winning design projects. As part of our integrated design teams you create buildings that elevate the human experience through design.

The successful candidate will:

  • Create effective graphic communications for clients and colleagues to effectively convey complex conceptual design ideas.

  • Design, develop and document various project types.

  • Additionally, you'll support design projects with exceptional design thinking, project imagery, design research, and project documentation.

  • Have excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.

  • Be able to work and present ideas in a team environment as well as self-manage and self-motivate in a creative environment.

  • Possess a high level of proficiency in the production of graphic communication.

Required Qualifications:

  • Architectural design experience. Please include a resume or portfolio of design projects when applying.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Design.

  • Intermediate and demonstrated ability in the use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

  • Proficient in the use of computer modeling and rendering software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • On track to Professional License

  • Demonstrated knowledge of SketchUp and V-Ray.

  • Proficient in the use of Revit and AutoCAD.

Job Description: Senior level position in the Mechanical Subsystem Directorate (MSD), Mechanical Design Integrity (MDI) Department. Assignments will be received in task and objective oriented terms. Conducts briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal and external representatives. Foster effective communication between teams and team members. Work is performed without appreciable direction either individually, in a team environment, or in a supervisory capacity to develop major wire harness and/or flex harness components or develop improvements to a product to facilitate manufacturing operations. Uses Computer Assisted Design (CAD) systems to prepare electro/mechanical design layouts, electrical diagrams, detail and assembly drawings and models, and related documentation in conformance to appropriate program and/or military specifications. Responsible for identification & execution of the program requirements and ensuring the quality of Model Data Sets and associated Drawings are delivered with program cost and schedule constraints. Provide interpretation and implementation of ASME Y14 Standards and drafting standards. Support the definition of all drawings necessary to describe the product for full design disclosure in order to comply with the requirements for a Product Level Technical Data Package. Become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems. Required Skills: * SME with mechanical design experience that may include areas such as electrical/mechanical packaging, harnessing, cabling, electrical schematic/diagrams. * Background in manufacturing methods/processes of harness design such as IPC-620 * SME user of CREO or Pro/Engineer Cabling Module, Pro/Diagram, CREO Schematic, and Sheet Metal Module. * Candidate must have complete understanding of basic principles, theories and concepts for creation and preparation of engineering design documentation. * Candidate must have a full knowledge of industry practices and standards used in drafting, modeling and design development/revision. * Candidate must be able to identify and correct design, model, or drawing errors/omissions/deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements. * Technical knowledge sufficient to perform complex tasks such as preparation of all types of detail drawings, large assemblies, castings or other performs, interface drawings, various layouts for design concepts, and many other high level tasks. * Technical knowledge using documentation specifications such as MIL-STD-31000, ASME Y14.5M, ASME Y14.24 and ASME Y14.100. * Must have the ability to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). * Expert user of CREO or Pro/Engineer solid modeling tool and considerable knowledge of Windchill CPDM. * Effective oral and written communication skills / good communicator * Ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently * Self starter * Demonstrate leadership skills Desired Skills: * Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Knowledge of Raytheon Drafting Standards, Mechanical Engineering Process for documentation preparation. * Working knowledge of RMS processes and procedures * Existing Secret clearance Required Education: Advanced Degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, or related degree Equivalent in Experience Desired Education: Advanced degree(s) in Engineering, Physics, Math, System Engineering or related discipline This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization. 146308BR 146308 Business Unit Profile Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services delivers innovative technology to make the world a safer place.
