Project Designer - Energy

We are an integral player in the development and expansion of energy facilities and programs for major fueling companies, municipalities, utility organizations and independent marketers across the country. Our experience includes engineering and planning petroleum, hydrogen, EV charging, natural gas, CNG and LNG stations. While the scope of our services will continue to expand with emerging industries, most of the job duties will be heavily focused on retail fueling design for some of the nations and world's largest and most respected companies.

Pay is DOE: $48-$60/hour

• This is a full-time, onsite position*

Project Designer Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare construction plans, exhibits and other project documents

• Knowledge on various fueling and energy system manufacturers, equipment, and functionality of the entire system

• Skillful project management, guiding projects from inception through design, permitting, and construction phases

• Coordinate with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permitting-related tasks

• Collaborating with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to gather specs and installation requirements.

• Creating site-specific energy system plans using AutoCAD (Revit a plus) for various fueling and alternative energy systems.

• Knowledgeable about current regulatory requirements, applicable codes, and adaptable to individual customer design standards.

• Perform detailed piping slope and tank burial calculations when required on a site-by-site basis

• Assist project engineers in completing projects in a timely manner and within project budgets

• Attend internal team project meetings, new project kick-off meetings, agency meetings and client meetings (as needed)

• Be on the forefront of emerging technologies within our industry

Project Designer Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in fueling/energy system design

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering is preferred, but not required

• Proficient with AutoCAD and network filing systems

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency with MS Office

• Willingness and/or capability to collaborate in teams to achieve common objectives (a genuine team player).

• Self-motivated with the ability and desire to advance towards energy system expertise.

• Potential for travel across the country to perform site investigation/surveys of existing conditions (Mexico also an option)

• Strives for career advancement through research and understanding of project-related equipment, regulatory codes, and emerging technology in energy systems.
