Overview

Daifuku America Corporation is a leader in Design, Manufacturing, Installation and Support of automotive automation/material handling systems in North America. The company is currently seeking an experienced Project Cost Analyst for the facility in Reynoldsburg, OH.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the forecasting, cost and project accounting responsibilities as it pertains to the financial accounting and project management of the business. Preforms, analyzes and comments on the statistical trends and developments of various projects through regularly scheduled departmental meetings. Personal and interpersonal skills are required in order to manage confidential information as well as outside institutions and/or business partners. Inert ability to adapt in a constantly changing fast paced environment. Must be able to meet reporting deadlines, which may include accumulating unscheduled overtime.

Other responsibilities

  • Take into consideration the processing of contract orders and changes

  • Monthly review and forecasting of complex projects and other short cycle orders

  • Maintain project budgets and revenue recognition in various systems

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures (JSOX)

  • Testing and implementation of special projects as required

  • Contributes to team effort by meeting regularly with Operations personnel to gage projects financial performance and gather related data to produce analytics related to project results

  • Ensure accuracy and publish project financial reports

  • Process improvement

  • Accurate forecast revenue of each project monthly by interacting with Manufacturing, Field, Subcontractors, Engineering,and Purchasing.

  • Facilitate technical meetings with all discplines to ensure by askingthat all assumptions are covered in producing a quality accurate forecast.

  • Ability to interact with Sales to forecast all new opportunities and timing for Booking, Revenue, and Gross Margin

Qualifications

  • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel)

  • Complete working knowledge of SAP (preferred) or other (MRP software)

  • Knowledge of cost and US GAAP accounting principals

  • Japanese Bi-lingual a plus

Work Environment

Overtime may be required especially at quarter and year end. Occasional travel may be needed. Office environment. Prolonged periods of sitting and a lot of time keyboarding and looking at a monitor.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors of Science Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, Finance or related field and/or equivalent experience in cost accounting role in a manufacturing and/or Engineer-to-order environment.

  • 7+ Years' Experience

  • Experience with manufacturing environment a plus

Qualifications Experience * Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. * 2-3 years specialty retail and/ or store operations experience preferred. * Experience initiating and supporting creation of business cases preferred. * Project management experience required. * Ability to travel 15-20 days a quarter on average. * Proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and experience with SharePoint. * Highly developed planning, execution and organization skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Must be able to act independently, multi-task and manage multiple projects and priorities. * Strong collaboration and leadership skills. * Ability to quickly build strong business relationships in a highly collaborative, fast-paced culture through inclusion, professionalism and influence.
