Job Summary:

The Department of Radiology's University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee and manage leadership initiative projects for the Department. This position will work closely with the Department Chair, Vice Chairs and other internal stakeholders to define the scope, set objectives, create a process, manage expectation, and develop a detailed project plan. The position will also create and manage an accurate timeline of project completion, adjust priorities, and communicate obstacles to Departmental Leadership. The Project Coordinator is expected to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the project plan and use tracked data to identify shortcomings and/or ways to improvement future projects.

Responsibilities:

Plans, analyzes, manages, coordinates, and tracks projects and quality improvement efforts for processes, procedures, and systems. Provides management consulting to improve organizational results.

  • 60% Develops, schedules, coordinates, and prioritizes project work plans in accordance with specifications and resource limitations
  • 5% Develops, enhances, and maintains operational standards and systems to support project teams
  • 5% Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions
  • 5% Establishes, monitors, coordinates, and controls project budgets versus actual expenditures and budget reporting
  • 25% Serves as the initial point of contact for the project(s), serves on committees, and attends meetings representing the interests of the project(s)

Education:

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree, strongly preferred

Qualifications:

Required

  • Project management experience or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred

  • At least 2 years of project management experience or equivalent.

  • Experience with project management software and tools.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, and/or Waterfall).

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Ability to create detailed project plans and schedules.

  • Proficient at managing time and resources.

  • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communications skills.

  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Work Type:

Full Time: 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $65,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

Depending on Qualifications

The starting salary for the position is $65,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

The department will not be able to support a request for a J-1 waiver. If you choose to pursue a waiver and apply for our position, neither the UW nor UWMF will reimburse you for your legal or waiver fees.
