How would you like to work for an award-winning advanced wastewater treatment facility permitted to treat 33 million gallons of wastewater per day. The South Cross Bayou Advanced Water Reclamation Facility is seeking a creative and innovative candidate with wastewater applicable background to serve as the Project Coordinator in the dynamic and innovative field of resource recovery.

The Project Coordinator will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be responsible for data analytics in support of optimizing logistical and operational management. The Project coordinator will be responsible for effectively extracting and compiling data from multiple sources (including various software applications) in the areas of time, money, materials, man-hours, energy, chemicals, and other resources and presenting the data to the Plant Manager and other supervisors along with recommendations for action to implement streamlined, efficient and effective processes.

Strong communication skills and inherent ability to interpret, analyze and present data effectively is a must. The coordinator will facilitate these tasks through direct communication with maintenance, operation and leadership teams in order to gain insight and input from stakeholders. The coordinator will also be responsible for initiating and managing various facility projects and will work with multiple teams, supervisors, departments, divisions, and outside vendors in order to facilitate completion.

In support of this vision, the facility seeks to advance towards progressive practices for asset management aimed at predictive maintenance of almost 10,000 pieces of equipment (assets) while also reducing chemical and energy consumption through the use of innovative technologies and process control techniques.

The Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities of the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility and its associated collection system pump stations, which includes supervising electrical, operations and maintenance staff and overseeing workplace safety and cleanliness, asset management, warehousing and inventory, and budget planning.

The primary job function of this position is to ensure that maintenance activities support plant operations and the efficient production of plant products (reclaimed water, fertilizer, surface water discharge). The Coordinator's time will be split between field and desk activities that require creative problem solving, technological savvy, and strong oral and written communication skills. The Coordinator must be prepared to model exemplary leadership and professional practices to a diverse staff.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Utilize preventative maintenance software to extract data for the purpose of prioritizing preventative maintenance activities according to criticality of equipment.

  • Develops charts, graphs, reports, and data tables that are comprehensive and accurate.

  • Present data and recommendations to management and supervisors.

  • Implement strategies for chemical and energy consumption.

  • Extract operational performance metrics from multiple databases.

  • Assist in budget planning and monitor expenditures.

  • Utilize Statistical Process Control techniques for optimization analysis.

  • Reliability modeling and prediction.

  • Initiate facility projects and oversee through completion.

  • Plan and schedule meetings with supervisors, management and other staff.

  • Performs related work as assigned or required.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

Experience: Wastewater, reclaim, deep well injection or pond distribution that includes 1 years of lead worker or supervisory training.

Degree: Environmental science, math, chemistry, physics, health science, information technology, business administration, economics, engineering or subject directly related to the specialized assignments.

  • Eight (8) years of technical and professional level experience in the assigned subject matter area of responsibility that includes one (1) year of lead worker or supervisory training.

  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of experience as described above.

  • Associate's degree and four (6) years of experience as described above.

  • Master's degree and two (2) years of experience as described above.

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

  • Valid Florida Driver's License at time of hire.

  • Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.

Highly Desirable

  • Wastewater license (A, B, C)

  • Strong data analytics skills,

  • Ability to use multiple software applications for data extraction.

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

  • Innovative and self-motivated.

  • Adherence to deadlines and ability to achieve results.
