Minimum Qualifications Eight years of experience listed below, including two years of supervisory experience or one year of managerial experience:

  • Software development;

  • As a technical team lead maintaining applications for NYS government;

  • Developing/maintaining New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) open system applications or interfaces;

  • Reviewing technical design documentation.

The following degrees may substitute for the general experience as indicated:

  • Associates degree and seven years of experience

  • Associates degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and six years of experience

  • Bachelor's degree and six years of experience

  • Bachelor's degree including 15 semester credit hours in computer science and five years of experience

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional year of experience

  • Doctorate in computer science or related field substitutes for an additional 2 years of experience

Duties Description Under the direction of Assistant Director ITS 1, M4, within the Revenue and Transportation Portfolio/Business Solutions Bureau/ Department of Labor (DOL) Section, the Project Coordinator will serve as the ITS Lead Architect and will work closely with the vendor counterparts and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) architects to ensure that the vendor technology aligns with industry standards and best practices, and ensure the vendor thoroughly addresses design and development. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Define integration tasks required by ITS DOL Business Solutions, working in collaboration with the vendor counterpart Lead Architect;

  • Direct the lead Business Analyst regarding additional documentation required for either the vendor or Business Solutions staff. Ensure the documentation provided is at the appropriate level of detail to be understood by ITS Business Solutions teams, who will be using the development tasks;

  • Provide ITS sign-off for technical design deliverables and all deliverables related to integration with mandatory assets and interfaces;

  • Provide oversight for the "integration design" for any required changes on the business solutions side. Must ensure a consistent pattern is followed;

  • Coordinate with the vendor technical team on the infrastructure architecture of existing NYSDOL applications and technical aspects of NYSDOL home grown systems that will be replaced by project deliverables;

  • Support the data migration leads and ensure that the ITS data migration and data bridging tasks are completed accurately and on time;

  • Ensure that Business Solutions staff can work with the new technology and that the system can be supported after "go-live".

The Project Assistant will drive meetings to ensure the prioritization of work aligns with the agency and enterprise business needs and track the progress. The Project Assistant will identify any gaps in support, and work with those teams to raise the awareness and collaborate to determine means for providing necessary support. This position requires a candidate with extensive knowledge and expertise as it relates to Networks and Telecommunications and agency Remote Site Coordination, who can lead ITS initiatives as well as provide oversight and guidance around Network and Telecommunications work efforts for all IT service management and intake records pertaining to Remote Site Coordination. The Project Assistant will ensure prioritization of work aligns to Cluster and Agency goals and processes, while tracking the progress of the various activities within Client Networking. In addition, the Project Assistant will identify gaps in the coordination of activities within Client Networking, and work with those teams to raise the awareness and provide guidance in process definition or improvements. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: * Coordinate requirements gathering for remote site moves, adds and changes. * Produce Rough Order Magnitude (ROM's) cost estimates for agency sign off. * Work with stakeholders and team members to prioritize site coordination activities. * Conduct status and working meetings with stakeholders and team members. * Develop and implement communication plans for reporting status, progress, issues and risks. * Create and execute risk assessment and management plans. * Utilize extensive knowledge of data and voice networking to facilitate the timely and efficient processing and tracking of various types of requests pertaining to data and voice projects and implementations. This includes the design, build and run experience for various network (WAN, LAN, Wireless)/VoIP environments. * Analyze all incoming work to determine task complexity which is required to develop timelines, scope, resource allocation planning and budget impact. * Match Pool workload balance and resource skill to optimize Pool execution on a continual basis to achieve timely, high quality service delivery and SLA compliance from the team. * Take ownership for assessing issues and lead resolution. * Ensure portfolio stakeholders follow standard guidelines and procedures when requesting service from the Client Networking.
