Position Overview
The employee in this part-time position (8-16 hours per week) will work closely with the Principal Investigator and collaborators to manage a UNTHSC-funded research project on a pilot study to translate, validate, pre-test, and pilot-test questionnaires to Vietnamese Americans with rheumatic conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelors Degree and/or relevant work experience is required;1-2 years prior research experience, especially with Vietnamese American participants
Bilingual in Vietnamese and English
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Fluent in spoken and written Vietnamese and English.
Prior research experience;
Experience in community outreach in Vietnamese American communities for research recruitment and/or education;
Advanced computer skills using a range of software programs, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), REDCap, and ability to use Zoom and other online conferencing software.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
Assist with the preparation of recruiting materials.
Conduct recruitment and retention communications to participants.
Assist with the programming and testing of data collection survey software.
Assist with subject payments for participation.
Document study materials, including measures binders and Manual of Operations.
Assist in preparing materials for presentation for Principal Investigators.
Ability to communicate effectively and perform other administrative/clerical tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of patient confidentiality/HIPPA preferred
Good communication skills, including interviewing and transcribing
Able to work some evenings and/or weekends
Willing to travel to recruitment sites
Well organized and attention to details.
Able to document research procedures.
Be self-motivated, flexible/adaptable, and can work independently.
Able to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines.
Able to assist in data management and quality control.
Some work can be done remotely; negotiable.
