A Day in the Life of a Project Coordinator:
This position serves as a liaison between departments ensuring successful outcomes to key initiatives through development, implementation and evaluation activities.
Assist with the management of project events
Participate in project planning and status meetings
Document catalog current state and future state workflows
Collect and organize information for requirements analysis
Monitor task progress, overdue, and near due activities
Compile weekly resource hours, summary reports and status updates
Develop and maintain organization of document file structure within assigned directory
Administer project application tools such as SharePoint and mail distribution lists (issue tracking, time tracking)
Collect and assist with project status data and draft weekly/monthly status reports
Develop draft presentations
Provide administrative support for kickoffs, implementations, rollouts, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Duties for Small to Intermediate Projects
Define the scope of the project in collaboration with stakeholders
Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates the resources to the activities
Develop a schedule for project completion
Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated
Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion
Monitor and approve budget
Perform risk assessments
Identify and pursue opportunities for increasing efficiency
Ensure that project will comply with all management policies and practices
1-2 years experience in a managed care organization is preferred
Experience in developing presentations is required
Experience in process improvement and standards development
Knowledge of managed care principles a plus
Knowledge of State Managed Medicaid rules and regulations a plus
General Knowledge of quality and process improvement strategies
General Knowledge of National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), URAC or general accreditation a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Visio and MS Project a plus
Strong organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to synthesize information into easily understood talking points
Ability to organize and manage groups and committees to ensure progress toward identified goals
Ability to understand project management methods and tools
Ability to effectively make decisions when confronted with numerous possible courses of action
Ability to interpret, implement, create, and comply with management policies and practices
Ability to create status reports
