The Intern Project Coordinator's role is to support the Project Management with oversight of approved development and construction projects. While the Intern Project Coordinator may have many obligations and responsibilities necessary for the successful implementations of these projects, the position does not have the authorization to make decisions or discretion or independent judgement on matters of significance. The program is designed for students majoring in business or real estate who have a strong interest in learning about construction and development. Participation in the program is intended to be a training and mentoring program with exposure to all aspects of Project Management on a structured and rotating basis. This is a Part-Time paid internship.
Essential Job Functions
Work closely with the Project Coordinator and Director of Development
Project management support
Coordination of work efforts for consultants and contractors
Review and administration of contracts.
Coordinate information between consultants, contractors, and the project management team.
Review/maintain project budgets.
Assist Project Managers with new pursuits and Request for Proposals (RFP)
Effectively and professionally communicate with all levels of the organization; as well as field and office personnel, subcontractors, outsource partners and client representatives.
Update and maintain Ohana Military Communities's project database.
Coordinate and communicate program/project progress updates or concerns as assigned
Perform internet real estate related research and communicate results.
Microsoft Excel spreadsheet preparation, including report validation for accuracy
Create PowerPoint presentations for events, conferences and meetings.
Scheduling of meetings and team conference calls.
Administer sponsorship requests and coordinate Rapid Gate passes for employees, contractors, and consultants.
Perform other duties as assigned.
B.S. or B.A. degree in architecture, construction management, urban planning, business management, administration, accounting/finance, communications, or another related field required.
Experience and Qualifications
Strong academic background as a rising junior or senior majoring in business or real estate.
Self-motivated, creative and disciplined seeking to excel in residential real estate industry
Excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills.
Ability to adapt to changing environment and support of multiple leaders.
Solid quantitative skills and capacity for analytical and critical thinking.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Requires a self-motivated, individual who pays close attention to detail and who can prioritize in a fast-moving environment who can demonstrate client management and basic business literacy skills. While working in an independent and reliable manner, team work and effective communication will be necessary for success.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are standard business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
