Project Coordinator

Location: Detroit, MI

Duration: 1 year


  • Primary responsibility will be managing and maintaining MS project plans, status/dashboards on one or more large projects. Additional activities include business process flow documentation, meeting set-up, meeting notes with action items and decision tracking. Tracking and reporting budget/hours on project. Lead status activities with multiple business units related to assigned tasks. Report to the Project Manager.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years in a Healthcare industry
  • 5+ years creating business process flows
  • 5+ years managing project plans in MS Project
  • 5+ years facilitating and recording meeting minutes

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Current experience with - Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint, PowerPoint

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Coordinator of more than one project


  • Bachelor degree is required in a related field.

  • Prefer PMP certified

VIEW JOBS 8/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-11-11T00:00 General Statement of Duties The HOPE Village 21st Century Freedom Schools Project Director will develop, administer and lead the team implementing Focus: HOPE's HOPE Village 21st Century Freedom Schools (HVFS), serving children at Joy Preparatory Academy located in the HOPE Village neighborhood of Detroit. The Project Director will be an integral part of the program delivery and will be on site for all programming activities. The Project Director will also be responsible for parent engagement, school/program relationships, student recruitment and retention and reporting. RequirementsMajor Duties and Responsibilities * Be thoroughly familiar with the approved grant contract with MDE and assure adherence to the grant contract * Hiring, scheduling, and supervising staff * Monitor and evaluate program and program staff using YPQA and MSU evaluation materials * Determine staff development needs in cooperation with all staff in accordance with evaluation results * Arrange appropriate staff development * Develop positive school-day to after-school relationships * Develop community connections * Develop, implement, and evaluate operational policies and practices for the after-school program in cooperation with staff, youth, and parents * Provide administration and direction to manage the after-school program * Supervise and monitor staff * Work in partnership with school-day and partner agencies * Manage the recruitment and retention of students * Plan and conduct parent and family service events * Facilitate communication with teachers, principals, parents and community partners * Ensure that the program has a posted schedule and daily written lesson plans with staff assigned to specific duties * Maintain all staff and student attendance and enrollment records and ensure that all records are up to date in the statewide evaluation system (EZReports and YPQA) * Attend all mandatory meetings, conferences, and trainings * Develop, implement and evaluate site policies and programs * Administer day to day operations, including being available to address parent, child and staff issues Special Licenses/Certifications RequiredExperience and Qualifications * Experience working in African American communities required * Passion for education justice * Desire to lead teams that inspire young people to set and achieve goals * Administrative experience preferred * Experience with budgeting, supervision, and curriculum development * Strong commitment to diversity and civil and human rights. * Strong leadership, analytical and organizing abilities * Highly motivated and independent, yet team-oriented * Excellent analytical skills * Able to work flexible hours, particularly in the evenings and on weekends, and have reliable transportation * Computer and other office skills Additional CommentsEducation, Training, and Experience * Must meet minimum requirements for licensing "School-Age Program Director" as defined in Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers, January 2014 * Youth Development Resource Center training a plus. Schedule This is a full time, 30 hour per week, year-round position. The Project Director must be in attendance during program hours (after school during the school year and during the day in the summer) supervising staff and students. Non-program hours will be spent facilitating program administration and school-day connections.
