The Project Coordinator is responsible for providing research and administrative support, including planning, coordination, and implementation of various projects and activities under the direction of a Program Operations Director in support of the Biostatistics Program in the Fred Hutch Division of Public Health Sciences.

This role offers varied project support for research training programs and other projects within the Biostatistics Program. Within a team environment, the Project Coordinator will work both collaboratively and independently to provide project, administrative, and operational support for faculty and other program staff. This position requires excellent strategic, planning, and communication skills and an aptitude for cross-discipline collaborative work within the Biostatistics Program and with administrative departments, researchers, and staff. A successful candidate will be detail oriented and flexible, hold a positive and collegial attitude and approach to all aspects of the position. Adaptability to peaks in workflows, willingness to assist other team members, and the commitment to meeting deadlines are essential.

This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with the Principle Investigator and other Program staff, oversee training program and other research project activities.

  • Assist in the development of program/project policies and procedures. Administer policies and procedures according to protocol, IRB, grant/contract and Center specifications.

  • Serve as program/project liaison, representing the program/project to other Center departments, affiliated individuals or institutions, and outside organizations.

  • Develop, implement and maintain inter-institutional training programs, coordinating recruitment, monitoring trainee activities, serving as a liaison with participating institutions, and directing follow-up activities.

  • Provide event management and logistical support to conferences, workshops, courses, and seminars. Plan, implement, and manage events, securing space, speakers, procurement of catering and equipment. Attend events and monitor activities.

  • Plan and attend committee meetings and document proceedings.

  • Monitor program/project activities, ensuring objectives have been met within designated time frame, and coordinate follow-up activities.

  • Coordinate all program/project related travel arrangements and ensure compliance with grant and Center policies and procedures. Process travel reimbursement and reconcile ProCard (corporate credit card) expenses for program/project faculty and staff.

  • Perform other responsibilities, duties, and special projects as assigned by or required in support of the Biostatistics Program.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of one year post-master's or three years post-bachelor's project coordination experience in a research or acedemic setting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with MS Teams, Zoom, and other virtual platforms.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize effectively, plan ahead, problem-solve and meet goals in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the team.

  • Competency working with individuals in remote work setting.

  • Ability to learn new platforms, as needed, in order to support program/project needs.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $30.30 to $45.43 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
