The Child Study Center (CSC) at NYU Langone Medical Center is seeking a Project Coordinator to assist with a number of tasks related to its newly funded NYU Center for Child Welfare Practice Innovation (NYU CCWPI). The NYU CCWPI is a center within the SAMHSA-funded National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) dedicated to advancing the care of traumatized children within the nation's child welfare systems. Responsible for providing basic to moderate range of Project coordination.
Works with internal and external parties to organize the various components needed to initiate, run and complete major Project. Promotes, coordinates and supports the development of research Project (gathering, collecting and analysis data). Facilitates the administration process of departmental activities (e.g., facilitates the administrative process of recruiting and on-boarding process, maintaining records, compiling and monitoring the master schedule for meetings; grant application preparation and submission; monitoring and developing budget; organizing and coordinating seminars, training programs and other related activities). Reports to a Manager or Director; works under general supervision.
Research Activities- Gathers and collects data from different parties and presents findings as applicable. Researches problems, issues and concerns and responds to requests for information. Assists in developing materials and presentations for training and educational sessions, departmental seminars and other activities.
The Child Study Center (CSC) at NYU Langone Medical Center is seeking a Project Coordinator to assist with a number of tasks related to its newly funded NYU Center for Child Welfare Practice Innovation (NYU CCWPI). The NYU CCWPI is a center within the SAMHSA-funded National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) dedicated to advancing the care of traumatized children within the nations child welfare systems. The work of the center includes the development and implementation of training materials and curriculum for providers in the child welfare system, including foster parents, and the implementation and evaluation of assessment tools and interventions to guide care. Interventions that will be implemented include Trauma Systems Therapy, a systems-oriented mental health intervention developed by members of our team.
The Project coordinator will, under supervision, coordinate administrative and project management elements of the center including the development of training tools and materials, implementation of trainings, assessments and interventions in child welfare settings, and program evaluation. The Project coordinator will also support required grant reports to our funder, IRB reports, and preparation and submission of manuscripts based on our work
1.Coordinate Project management:
a. Develop (with the Principal Investigator) a system for tracking and monitoring progress on grant related projects
b. Provide feedback to team on observed project progress
c. Work (with Principal Investigator) to adjust management of projects based on observed project progress.
2.Assist in development of tools and materials including:
a. Video modules to educate the child welfare workforce
b. Assessment tools
c. Intervention tools
3.Assist with implementation of tools and materials in implementation sites
4.Assist in data collection and evaluation in implementation sites
5.Coordinate activities related to the Trauma Systems Therapy Innovation Community
a. Coordinate agenda for regular TST administrative meetings and monthly Innovation Community meeting and gather / disseminate related material as needed
b. Respond to inquiries about TST, provide basic information, and schedule further contact if appropriate (in consultation with Lead TST Trainer).
c. Develop, maintain and update TST materials including slide sets, forms and tools, website updates, power point presentations, and other dissemination materials.
a. Collect and enter data for SAMHSA annual reporting
b. Prepare and submit annual reports
c. Prepare and submit IRB reports
d. Prepare agenda and take minutes for designated center meetings
e. Assist with scheduling, coordinating and facilitating meetings
f. Facilitate team presentations at meetings and conferences
g. Other administrative tasks (schedule travel, photocopying, note taking at meetings, ordering catering, facilitate reimbursements)
h. Liaise with SAMHSA project officer
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications.
Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.
Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details.
Project/Program management experience preferred.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
