Position Summary

Responsible for the project management and construction/execution of Renewables Solar projects. Under general direction with minimal supervision provides project controls work and support of project management of Renewables' construction projects including new greenfield solar PV electric generating facilities.. Provide support in the development of project execution plans to define the process by which the project will be managed and the work executed. Provides the work and oversight to assure all work is in compliance with corporate policy including PMCoE. Responsible for timely and accurately tracking and reporting project costs against approved construction project budgets in accordance with the project charter and business proforma. Reconciles project reporting with corporate accounting reports. Utilizes corporate risk management and reporting tools to support and monitor project contingency and requirements to cover projected risks. Supports the administration of contracts and timely payment of associated contractors. Defines and supports procedures and processes to assure compliance with all commercial agreements and company policies as it pertains to construction, operations, and overall business contracting and payment deliverables. Basic knowledge of project schedules including gantt type schedules and critical path tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project cost controls for the successful execution and delivery of construction projects using a defined set of industry principles to monitor, control and communicate change and forecast costs throughout the course of a project.

  • Prepares and delivers regular project reporting to stakeholders for assigned projects which covers project status and metrics on scope, cost, schedule, and risk management of projects as defined by the project team.

  • Coordinate and assure issuance of purchase orders to third party contractors and suppliers as requested in accordance with corporate and department policies and procedures.

  • Interface with Renewables' and corporate accounting and asset management to assure compliance with policies and procedures and assure accurate reporting and reconciliation of costs and financing records.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the use of the corporate risk management tool and program for the group.

  • Responsible for all aspects of the project cost reporting and payments in accordance with project agreements and corporate policies.

  • Support the project manager and project team as needed to meet the project deliverables and to assure a smooth transition from the construction completion to the O&M team to meet the needs of the business case.

Basic/Required Qualifications

  • 2 year degree business, finance, project management, engineering, technical, or equivalent AND

  • 2+ years prior related work experience OR

  • 5+ years prior related work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Desired Qualifications
4 yr degree preferred

PMI or AACE certification a plus

Experience in leading initiatives and collaborating with team members to achieve results

Knowledge and / or experience with solar / wind renewable energy projects

Knowledge and experience in managing contractors

Specific Requirements

Proficient in project cost control, analytical skills, and computer software use (including Microsoft Xcel and office suite software as well as accounting databases); proficient communication skills (written and oral); working knowledge of project management skills and project schedule and risk analysis; working ability of critical thinking / problem solving skills; consistency in delivering results with focus on compliance and ethics; strong collaborative team member and individual contributor.
