The Project Controller performs cost estimating, analysis, and control activities. The position is also responsible for schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities. The Project Controller also performs cost engineering and/or planning and scheduling activities, as directed.


  • Input and revise Orders of Magnitude (OOMs)

  • Process Check Requests

  • Work Order lines management and lines recognition

  • Issue Work Order and Purchase Order requests

  • Material Ordering and True Ups

  • Internal and External Financial True Ups

  • Close-out documents management per ND-298

  • Update project trackers and/or project databases

  • Validate data and maintaining data quality

  • Follow-up on action items and report progress

  • Work with data collected at site visits, provided by others or gathered personally (i.e. leases, CDs, permits, applications, and other reports and documents) as directed by supervisors.

  • Support daily activities of Managers.

Create and Maintain project and associated support documentation

  • Manage process of material requisitions and packing slips to corporate office for material received
  • Assist with preparation and submittal of Close Out Packages
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in email, phone calls, & meetings

  • Escalate appropriately to appropriate managers or project owners

  • Revenue Forecast and Recognition

  • Prepare, develop and revise project-based cost recording and reporting data, including input into NORAD, NetSuite, FileTrac, etc.

  • Maintain, compile input, and update cost recording data

  • Assist in developing and implementing requirements for cost recording, reporting, and analyzing standards, programs, and reports

  • Assist with preparation and submittal of Close Out documentation per True Up requirements

  • Telecom Project Experience (ATT)

  • Telecom Contract Experience

  • Project Financial management experience

  • Minimum one year with a professional business doing similar work

  • Solid MS Excel skills; must be able to work with reports, Pivot Tables, formatting, sorting, etc.
  • Demonstrated success with maintaining data quality and data management

  • Ability to work well both individually and as a team player


  • 2-Yr or 4-Yr College Degree
  • CAPM Certification from PMI
  • Professional Certifications (Microsoft:, EIT, IEEE, etc)
  • Additional Software Skills (AutoCAD, Visio, UNIX, Granite, Oracle, graphing so:ware, etc)


Work schedule is Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Occasional travel may be required.

The BizOps Controller performs Controller functions as part of the client's accounting services team. S/he acts as and manages the designated function(s) for the client. S/he is also accountable for identifying and implementing best practices related to the service(s) provided to add value to the client. S/he develops full knowledge of GAAP (FASB/SFAS) and deep understanding of financial and operational aspects of his/her specific industry. Work Activities and Accountabilities: The below functions reflect the general details of the essential work activities and accountabilities of this position and are not all inclusive. Other activities may be assigned. * Financials: Develops internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting. Coordinates and directs the financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities for all or part of an organization. Prepare financial information. Prepare, or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies. Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations. Meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements, and prepares budgets. Monitor ratio and key performance indicators (KPI). * Leadership: Monitors and evaluates the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing actions. Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions. Supervise and develop staff on a small number of clients. Communicate on a regular basis with boards, bankers, investors, constituents, etc.; including preparing and hosting board presentations. Minimum Requirements: * Eight years relative work experience as a BizOps Senior, Assistant Controller, Controller, or equivalent. * BA/BS degree in accounting or related field required. * Proficiency and aptitude for applicable software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, etc.). * Ability to travel to local, Northern California client sites as needed. * Construction industry experience highly preferred. * People management experience with the ability to guide, motivate others and direct a team to achieve desired end results. * Public accounting experience preferred. * Certification/Licenses: None required. CPA preferred * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Organizational Interfaces: The BizOps Controller reports directly to thea CFO or BizOps Principal in charge of the client.
