H&W is also a founding member of the ET&D Partnership, a collaborative industry partnership working to reduce fatalities, injuries, and illnesses in the construction industry is currently recruiting individuals to fill our open Project Controller I role.

The Project Controller I performs tasks related to the collection of data required to monitor project budgets and progress within an assigned Region or Division and assists in analyzing work progress by calculating/preparing various comparison reports, charts and tables.

This role will develop an understanding of business components and implications specific to accounting for Construction Companies and will work to support the principles of Henkels & McCoy's Project Management Methodology (PMM).

Responsibilities

Under direct guidance, the Project Controller I contributes to the support of the Project Team by collecting and validating and analyzing the financial information related to cost measurement, customer billings, purchase orders, accounts payables, payroll entries, and fleet and equipment utilization. This role assists in researching payable transactions related to the project as needed to identify issues prior to Month end Close processes and in monitoring compliance with external customer contract terms as well as internal company policies, procedures, and administrative guidelines.

The Project Controller I aids in ensuring that team goals, roles, protocols, and business relationships are consistent with high-performance requirements and congruent with the company's strategy. The ideal candidate will lead by example in an environment that fosters trust and candor, will maintain personal accountability, and communicate assertively and constructively within the assigned project population.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of financial tools, general accounting principles, and ability to master H&M systems (JD Edwards)

  • Able to analyze data proficiently

  • Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to interpret data/ statistical information

  • Solid computer skills and proficiency in MS Office applications

  • Broad problem-solving skills

Minimum Educational Background:

HS Diploma or equivalent

Minimum Years of Relevant Experience:

2+ years

Wage Range: $56,500 - $93,500 annually
