What You Will Do:
Manages System-level performance improvement initiatives to achieve significant operational and financial improvement as defined by UMMS Leadership. Monitors all components of initiatives to ensure that deadlines are met and goals achieved. Coordinates all aspects of initiative to include financial monitoring, implementation of change management, project schedule and stakeholder communications. Participates in the preparation of results reporting for all levels of the organization. Identifies, communicates and escalates barriers to performance as needed.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Utilizing internal and external data and analytics, works in conjunction with senior management to identify System-wide operational and financial improvement opportunities.
Develops detailed, comprehensive project plans and timelines to meet the desired operational and financial outcome of assigned System initiatives.
Develops and analyzes initiative interdependencies to effectively structure schedules and resources and understand project impacts on all System-wide activities.
Creates action plans and monitors barriers and risks to performance to ensure that all targets are being met. Communicates progress and outcomes routinely to all levels of organization. Escalates risk and barriers as needed.
Develops quantifiable baseline metrics upon which to measure the success of all assigned System initiatives. Utilizes defined metrics to monitor and communicate initiative results.
Works in conjunction with initiative team to identify all stakeholders across the System and their level of participation. Coordinates stakeholder activity and communication. Ensures participation of and feedback with stakeholders is active and meeting initiative goals and timelines.
Provides necessary levels of reporting and documentation of initiative status on a routine and ad hoc basis as needed. Targets presentations to appropriate levels of the organization as needed. Acts as consultant in the interpretation of the results to all levels of the organization and all UMMS facilities.
Coordinates across all UMMS facilities to insure that initiative has required stakeholder participation and buy-in. Promotes speed to value in setting timelines and expectations.
Provides continuous support and results reporting during and post implementation to ensure results are maintained.
What You Need to Be Successful:
Education and Experience
Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Public Policy, Business or related filed required
Four years project management experience is required.
Specialized certification preferred e.g. Change Management, Process Improvement, Project Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lead and coordinate stakeholders at all levels of the organization to accomplish desired outcomes.
Ability to lead System-wide team. Understands appropriate escalation process. Demonstrated ability to reach agreement and potential solutions through flexibility and compromise with peers, senior leaders and stakeholders.
Proficiency in the use of personal computers and related peripheral equipment is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Project is preferred.
Structure and manage initiatives to meet expectations, deliver value and minimize potential obstacles and risks. Understand and manage stakeholder needs and build commitment to project solutions that deliver target value.
