Qualifications Profile

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

  • Wisconsin Certification #1118 - Elementary Certification (1st

  • 8th Grade) or Secondary Certification (6th

  • 12th grade).

  • Experience, background and knowledge in project-based learning preferred.

  • Commitment to educational innovation and individualized, student-centered teaching and learning.

  • Strong interest in working as a team within a teacher-led organizational structure.

  • Experience integrating technology into instruction.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the development of individualized learning plans and project-based learning opportunities for students.

  • Contributes fully to the development and evaluation of school instructional methods and recommends changes and improvements as needed.

  • Assists in the development, implementation, review, revision, and evaluation of curricula plans (Scope and Sequence) as directed by the Department of Public Instruction and approved by the Charter School Council.

  • Engages community partners to facilitate student learning.

  • Maintains acceptable student conduct and supports positive behavior as necessary in an advisory based, relationship-centered model.

  • Maintains accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.

  • Participates in teacher led school governance.

  • Attends and participates in all Charter School training programs and required State meetings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

FTE: Summer School Only (Session 1: June 17th-28th; Session 2: July 8th-19th; No Classes: July 1st - 5th.) * Based on student enrollment. The School District of Ashland is seeking qualified candidates for its Summer School Enrichment Program. Individuals would be responsible for teaching up to 3 enrichment classes per session and available for both June and July sessions. Candidates must be student focused, task oriented, organized, positive, and flexible with a strong desire to help students succeed. The Summer School Enrichment Teacher position requires, but is not limited to the following: 1. Wisconsin Teaching Certification (any area) 2. Ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students assigned. 3. Ability to forge positive relationships with the parents/guardians of students. 4. Ability to work collegially with district staff and the community as needed. 5. Experience in curriculum writing to be able to develop enrichment classes. 6. Ability to facilitate student/parent/teacher meetings as needed. 7. Willingness to be flexible in content and age levels of classes that will be taught (enrichment classes are offered for 4K-11th grade students). Session 1: June 17-28 Session 2: July 8-19 Class Periods: 8:00 - 9:15; 8:00 - 10:40; 9:25 - 10:40; 9:25 - 12:05; 10:50 - 12:05 Teacher student contact time: 7:50 am - 12:20 pm (4.5 hours/day) Teacher planning time: 4.5 hours of prep per full session Schedule subject to change if needed.
