The Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, Division of Corporations, Business & Professional Licensing, is recruiting for a Long Term Non-Permanent Project Assistant located in Juneau!

What you will be doing:

Working in this position, the incumbent will perform a wide variety of administrative duties to support the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), the state's controlled substance prescription database. This position works within the Board of Pharmacy with the PDMP Manager and provides direct support to the program by monitoring various queues in the database for licensees under this board and the State Medical Board, Board of Nursing, Board of Examiners in Optometry, Board of Veterinary Examiners, and State Dental Board. Support duties include research and data analysis, conducting provider compliance reviews, understanding best database management practices, and other database management and administrative duties as assigned.

The incumbent will be expected to understand all applicable statutes and regulations governing the PDMP and requirements imposed on affected licensees. The incumbent will synthesize this information with other information from a variety of sources, including from other PDMP programs and national organizations to assist with the improvement and advancement of compliance monitoring.

This will require the ability to coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, database users, and other organizations to analyze, design, implement, and provide education on program matters. This position will require ongoing support to affected boards by conducting database searches, reviews and drafts of publications and professional literature to be presented or made available to end users.

This position will also respond to complex inquiries from applicants, users, and other stakeholders. This position performs a wide variety of other duties related to grant deliverables and mission-critical assignments.

The official duty station is located in our main office in on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in Juneau. Our office has updated furnishings and is centrally located in downtown Juneau.
