ActioNet is looking for a motivated, energetic, dynamic, business savy individual to assist with the day to day logistics of delivering services to our clients. This role falls between a junior project manager and an executive assistance/analyst. It best aligns with the individual who is looking to transition into a project management position but needs to gain some experience before they are able to do that.

Responsibilities

Your job will change every day and you will be expected to be a smart, articulate, and thoughtful worker. You will have to be able to take direction well and work without direction. Some weeks tasks will be laid out for you and other weeks you will need to dig into things and find ways to contribute. You need to be flexible for anything that comes your way. We're looking for someone that can play the role of assistant one day and help schedule meetings, screen resumes, and take meeting minutes. The next day you may be asked to research companies that may be good teaming partners for a new contract or even acquisition targets to help our company grow.

You will work on client contracts (Washington, DC near Union Station) and at the corporate office (Vienna, VA). You will be expected to lean into your work, own the tasks assigned to you, ad come up with innovative ways to contribute. This role and your responsibilities will evolve over time as the needs of the business unit evolve and as your skills/abilities evolve.

Performance Objectives:

In the first 30 days you will dive in and become familiar with the day to day operations of the main contract you will be supporting (located in Washington DC). This will be your initial priority. You will help with recruiting activities (coordinating with recruiters, screening resumes, setting up interviews), assist with onboarding new staff (first day logistics, welcome packages, introductions to teams, overview of tasks and responsibilities), help drive small efforts (organize meetings, facilitate discussions, take meeting minutes, drive action items, follow up with those responsibility for the action items, brief the leadership on progress), set up social events (happy hours, catered lunches, bagels on Mondays, other ideas?), and help the teams load balance where appropriate (create SOPs, document processes, etc).

Within 60 days you'll expand your reach back to corporate and take on responsibilities which include similar activities (as was described above) but over a portfolio of contracts. You will assist with quality control activities, get involved with some proposal and business development work, as well as other things. Again this work will include really low level stuff like formatting resumes, but also more challenging work such as helping coordinate the relocation of staff from one site to another, working on our company CMMI certifications, and developing briefings on our overall risk posture.

Skills Required

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be an expert communicator and a strong writer including good command of English language

  • Candidate must have a bachelors degree with a preference given to those with a business or IT degree

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen that can get a security clearance

  • Personality is very important, the candidate must be

  • Candidate must be very dynamic, willing to take on all types of work

  • Results-oriented approach to work delivery and output

  • Problem solving skills

  • Planning, time management and prioritization skills

  • Ability to handle conflicting priorities

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work

  • Good software and computer skills, including MS Office applications including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and clients.

  • Ability to influence without authority

Responsibilities Primary activities include but are not limited to: drafting and editing scopes of work; supporting field staff mobilization and repatriation; reviewing and processing expense reports; making travel arrangements/processing visa requests; providing support in editing and formatting of project reports and documents; processing Powers of Attorney and other legal documentation; and, assisting with the procurement of goods and services.
