Detailed Description:

Our ideal candidate will proactively partner with Project Managers and other members of the project team to help monitor and coordinate projects from start to finish.

  • Project Delivery: Learn Brown and Caldwell's project management systems and standards. Partner with project managers to ensure that all projects meet internal performance requirements in areas such as budget, contract, billing, documentation, communication, and quality control. Have a thorough understanding of the overall scope of work for each project assigned. Train new project managers on internal systems and project delivery requirements and expectations.

  • Budget/Financial: Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of overall project budget and financial status. Work with project managers to establish budgets which meet company guidelines. Enter budgets into our accounting systems and update frequently as changes are made. Review financial reports. Monitor labor charges, expenses, subcontractor invoices, and other costs. Work closely with the accounting department to expedite the client invoicing process. Act as point of contact for any client, subcontractor or internal team member on questions related to project finances.

  • Project Reporting: Work closely with project managers, quality reviewers, and accounting staff to lead the successful and timely delivery of the month end reporting process, which involves a review of overall project health, earned value analysis, project invoicing, schedule review, and workload forecasting.

  • Project Setup and Closeout: Work closely with Legal, Health & Safety, and Contract management staff to assist with contracts, subcontracts, amendments, and request certificates of insurance. Help project managers create the Project Management Plan, draft contact lists, and deliverables tracking.

  • General Project Support: Assist with daily project needs as assigned by the project manager and technical staff.

  • Team Effectiveness: Work closely with the project manager to lead project team coordination and communication. Build relationships with project managers, team members and support.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum five years of experience in a professional office setting required; experience in project support in the engineering and construction industry preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting Administration preferred.

  • Previous accounting experience required; candidate must be familiar with accounting practices, systems and tools.

  • Candidate should be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Power Point, MS Project, and Access skills are a plus

  • Candidate should be able to anticipate project needs and have the ability to identify work assignments independently.

  • Candidate should be comfortable working directly with senior managers and technical staff.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are essential.

  • Successful candidate will be proactive, self-motivated, with strong critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize required.

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment required.

  • Ability to work under multiple deadline pressures required.

  • Willing to work occasional overtime.

This position will build, develop and grow business relationships and direct and manage execution of projects. Typical consulting services provided by this team includes civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, geographic information system mapping & data management, and geotechnical laboratory testing services in support of siting, permitting, design, and construction of renewable (solar and wind) energy, industrial byproduct/residual management, and landfill projects. Responsibilities: * Sales development of clients through direct client contact, staff mentoring and coaching. The goal will be to capture follow-on work, expand TRC service offerings, and support TRC value propositions. * Project management, including financial management, contract negotiation, directing technical work, and client and regulatory liaison. * Client advocate within TRC, providing client feedback to TRC on changing needs, trends, expectations and satisfaction and keeping clients informed of significant issues that might affect them. * Technical resource in field of expertise and mentor to others. * Professional or technical degree in engineering, geology, or other environmental related discipline. * 2+ years in client development experience and 8 years of environmental consulting experience. Specific experience in a similar role within an engineering consulting firm is required. Demonstrated track record in client development and project management required. Candidates should have strong business development and project management skills. Demonstrated sales process and understanding of project management processes required. * Must be able to travel as needed. Must be able to use automobile and plane transportation. Will be required to work on client sites that require walking and some climbing. * Successful candidates will have well developed interpersonal and leadership skills, be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, and show a history of successful technical and financial project management acumen. Candidates with some loyal existing clients / accounts are preferred.
