We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Administrator to support our Laser and Advanced Sensor programs located in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The Lasers and Advanced Sensors (LAS) business unit is focused on the design, development, fabrication and integration of high energy laser systems, laser weapons systems and advanced sensors that provide targeting, tracking and identification functionality.
With general supervision, this position is responsible for coordinating the daily operational aspects of projects and serves as the liaison between project management and the project team, planning, and line management to present and exchange information. Continually reviews status of the project and budget; helps manage schedules and develops appropriate reports to document progress of the project. Assists in assessing project issues and helps develop solutions to meet production, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives. Participates in the development of mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project management, line management, and the customer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administers daily operational aspects of one or more ongoing projects; participates in project plan development.
Follows through on actions to completion, identifying and removing obstacles along the way.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Monitor project schedule, timeline, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet delivery goals.
Assists in coordinating departmental and/or cross-functional teams to assign and prioritize tasks focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products and/or services
Integrates and analyzes project plans to ensure milestones and delivery requirements are met; ensures that all the key parties are advised.
Participates in problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Develops appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records.
May represent the organization with outside organizations.
Provides direction to support staff and may provide direction to less experienced professional staff.
May participate in the request for proposal (RFP) process to generate new business.
Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Typically requires a bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related discipline and three or more years of progressive professional project administration experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Prefer candidates to have a related engineering discipline degree.
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Demonstrated proficiency with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) concepts utilizing Excel or MS Project is required.
Experience in laser technology, defense or aerospace is preferred.
Must demonstrate a general understanding of project administration principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Must have experience organizing, planning, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.
Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment while contributing to the development of new processes.
Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze data and develop solutions to a variety of problems; (2) good analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings; (3) good interpersonal skills enabling an effective interface with other professionals; and (4) good computer skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential, as is the ability to work extended hours as required.
