Position Description

The Project Accountant will assist the finance team with various accounting duties including, but not limited to; Month end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.


  • Assist with Month End close

  • Journal Entry Preparation and Entry

  • Account Reconciliations pertaining to various accounts related to Capex (assets & liabilities)

  • Project Accounting-setting up and maintaining project codes in SalesForce and Great Plains

  • Fixed assets/construction in process management-evaluating project for closing and reporting that information to Fixed Asset team on a monthly basis

  • Develop and implement projects and programs to assist in the accomplishment of established goals

  • Other duties as needed


  • College Degree in accounting with 0-2 years relevant accounting experience

  • Experience with Great Plains Dynamics systems a plus. Must be proficient in Excel; experience with V-Lookups and Pivot tables is highly desired.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills are required

  • Candidates must possess excellent analytical, judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to adapt to change

  • Must be able to work independently and meet required month-end deadlines

  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends especially at month-end

  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently and effectively; must be able to multi-task and have high energy with a strong work ethic

  • Must have the demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry a plus

  • Ability to sit for 40+ hours per week with occasional lifting (up to 50lbs), carrying and twisting

This position will report directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Develop and maintain an effective control environment on assigned accounts and tasks * Prepare timely and accurate journal entries in accordance with monthly close schedule * Accurately reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts. Investigate and follow up as needed * Prepare and present balance sheet and income statement variance analyses * Prepare supporting schedules for external auditors and respond to audit-related inquiries * Effectively manage and execute on additional special projects, as required Qualifications Education and Experience: * Bachelor's Degree from Accredited University in Accounting * 3-5 years public accounting or corporate accounting experience preferred.
