Position Summary:
The Project Accountant will be joining Snap Kitchen's rapidly growing Finance & Accounting team. This position will be supporting the VP of Accounting in day-to-day account reconciliations as well as carrying out the responsibilities leading up to financial statement preparation for key stakeholders. The Project Accountant will have the opportunity to improve and develop processes as the Company grows. We work in an open environment where we strive to collaborate across departments and work together as a team. The ideal candidate must be in the greater Austin area. This position will be fully remote with some meetings in person.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the period-end close process and maintain the close checklist.
Own accounting process, journal entries and balance sheet accounts reconciliations and reconcile payment processor records to GL.
Assist with preparing period-end financial statements and explain variances to budget and trend.
Assist with developing and implementing best-practice accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
Assist with the preparation of the fiscal year-end external audit.
Complete property tax, and other compliance reporting.
Other projects and tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor in accounting or Finance
4 - 6 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), lease accounting standard (842) and revenue recognition standard (606), inventory/job costing accounting process and experience with FAS.
Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
Experience various accounting software such as Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics, QuickBooks Enterprise, MS NAV, Business Central, SAP Concur, Shopify or similar software.
Rock star self-starter who is hungry to dig in, learn and achieve goals.
Must have excellent attention to detail.
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn quickly.
Advanced excel skills (Xlookup, Vlookup, data manipulation, nested formulas, pivot tables etc.)
Must be comfortable working in an open environment and collaborating across departments.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Maintain high standards of ethics, integrity, and honesty.
