The Team You'll Impact

You will become our organizational subject matter expert for the Streamlined Sales Tax Initiative and work to develop Sovos best practices around our Certified Service Provider status. No prior tax experience is necessary!

The Work You'll Do

Ensure that pricing practices, implementation protocols, and managed services processes are consistent with SST requirements

More specifically, you will:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement repeatable and optimized SST audit processes

  • Develop key initiatives and frameworks for Sovos

  • Collect and reconcile CSP client data on quarterly basis

  • Manage certain elements of the CSP Model 1 onboarding process

  • Registration through SST Central Registration System

  • Product Mapping

  • Support Sales, Alliances and Customer Support on CSP-related activities

  • Manage the quarterly SST Test Deck review process and support our ongoing communication with Member States including change and content certification requests

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3-5 years professional experience with project/program and process improvement responsibilities

  • Experience working within a similarly regulated industry preferred

VIEW JOBS 10/28/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-26T00:00 Role Summary/Purpose We seek a Principal Systems Engineer with expertise in space-based laser communications (lasercom) and free space optical communications. In this role, the candidate will function as a technical capture lead and expert for SSG's lasercom pursuits, investments, programs, and developments. The candidate must possess experience and expertise in lasercom / free space optical communications, including strong knowledge of the optical module that performs pointing, acquisition, and tracking, as well as the optical modem that includes the source, modulator, receiver, and any amplification and encoding. In addition, it is desired but not required that the candidate possess a breadth of space and/or communication system engineering background and skills, creativity, market understanding, customer communication skills, and written and oral communication skills. This role is a balance of technical and customer interaction activities. Candidate will report to the Director of Advanced Programs and will support current contracts, pursuits, study contracts, and internal research and development activities, primarily in the lasercom area but potentially in other EO/IR space payload activities as needed. Essential Responsibilities * Serve as a lasercom technical expert and leader supporting SSG's and L3T's growing portfolio of lasercom opportunities, programs, and development activities. * Define space lasercom optical module designs and architectures in response to customer and market needs, objectives, and solicitations. * Lead a team of engineers to develop those concepts, both in support of proposals and as initial customer-funded efforts. * Bring market and competitor knowledge to help craft technical and programmatic win strategies. Provide significant contribution into SSG's lasercom growth strategy. * Lead customer interactions throughout lasercom pursuit and program capture activities. * Manage study contracts, seed-contracts, prototype demonstration efforts, and initial customer-funded activities, and transition those activities to full production flight hardware teams. * Identify relevant subcontractors and help establish relationships. * Position the company as a preferred or exclusive partner with customers based on both technical and programmatic capabilities and performance. Qualifications/ Requirements * Minimum of a BS in a relevant technical field (physics, optics, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering) with 9-13 years of experience in a related industry. An MS or above is preferred. * Competent, broad technical knowledge of space based lasercom and free space optical communications, particularly with focus on the optical module. * Understanding of the lasercom marketplace, competitors and opportunities. * Strong written and oral presenting skills, with the ability to clearly and competently convey technical system designs and trades to customers. * Technical creativity and originality. * Leadership and interpersonal skills and the experience to lead a design team and small group in a similar business environment. * Active TS/SCI (SSBI) security clearance required.
