Job Details:

Mercer University's Center for Collaborative Journalism is searching for a Programming Specialist on the Macon, Georgia campus.

Responsibilities:

The Programming Specialist is responsible for managing content creation and facility use and upkeep at WMUB-TV, which is Mercer University's low-power broadcast facility. The primary duties include programming the automation for existing programming, working with other staff and students to create original web and over-the-air content for WMUB, using the television studio equipment, managing and producing content from community partners, scheduling studio use, staying compliant and abreast of FCC guidelines, and managing contract engineer services as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in journalism, media studies, communications, film or related field and five years of prior experience producing and creating television content are required. Candidates must have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite to include specific knowledge of Premiere, as well as using cloud-based sharing via Google Drive and television automation software (i.e.: Wise DV).

Candidates must have a valid driver's license.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong video editing skills with experience using non-linear editing software.

  • Ability to manage, produce, and sustain community television programming for digital and over-the-air broadcasts.

  • Ability to manage and produce content for broadcast to include both short and long-form pieces and packages.

  • Experience producing and editing packages for television, including experience with television automation software.

  • Knowledge of control room equipment, including managing studio cameras, studio lights, and an audio soundboard.
