D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Programmer-Analyst III for their Financial Services Information Technology Department. The right candidate will develop programs and procedures for the solution of a variety of business problems. Specifically, design and implement applications to improve efficiency in the mortgage loan origination and title policy business. Works independently on routine assignments. May sometimes function as liaison between IT and other SBUs in DHIFS.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs such activities as necessary to tune and maintain proprietary software to meet the needs of DHIFS

  • May gather the information needed to create new applications to meet the needs of DHIFS.

  • Create and maintain new applications to meet the needs of DHIFS

  • May perform data analysis, systems requirements definition and external design tasks

  • Participants in certain aspects of user consulting, systems analysis, general systems design, vendor contracts and detail systems design

  • Make recommendations to management regarding programming standards and techniques

  • Performs such activities as necessary to act as backup DBA for the Empower SQL server

  • Performs such activities as necessary to interface Empower with other proprietary software such as Loan Base

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Responsible for maintaining all intranet applications

Education and/or Experience

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Requires overall knowledge of multiple areas including:

  • SQL and stored procedures

  • Crystal programming

  • ASP programming

  • Solid data base knowledge - sufficient to function as DBA in the absence of the DBA

  • Script writing for Empower

  • BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration, or related field is preferred

  • 4 - 10 years experience in programming using the basic programming languages of DHIFS

  • 3 -4 years of related applications work experience

  • Ability to work well with others

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to do programming debugging, data analysis and system analysis

  • Must be customer service focused
