Your responsibilities

Summary of Position:Writes, tests, troubleshoots, and maintains the detailed instructions, that computers and operators must follow to perform their functions.Key Accountabilities:

  • Review part prints and determine the method of processing, tooling and equipment to be used

  • Generate the necessary toolpath using Mastercam and other Programming resources.

  • Acquire the necessary tooling for the job

  • Generate appropriate set-up documentation for the set-up operators

  • Update, repair, modify, and expand existing programs

  • Advise and consult with QC, Management, Sales and Customers when tolerance or application issues arise

  • Follow machining process through first article inspection insuring that quality requirements are met while optimizing toolpath and productivity

  • Organize and maintain the integrity of part process and programming files creating permanent storage of proven toolpath for each part processed.

Your profile

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to read and decipher supplied part prints and assembly drawings

  • Experience with toolpath generation for both Lathe and Mill

  • CNC 4 and 5 axis machine programming

  • Working knowledge of Mastercam and other cad/cam packages

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience operating mills and lathes

CNC Program and Mastercam certified

VIEW JOBS 10/10/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-08T00:00 Job Summary Programmer will provide programming and hardware support for Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) for 2D and 3D computerized machine vision systems. Programmer to to maintain optimal levels of production throughput. Monitors and resolves and maintains systemic programming and hardware related issues. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Performs regular backups for both machine programs and system image backups. * Attends various meetings (TIC, QIC, Readiness Meetings, etc.) including daily CAC meetings to pro-actively resolve program and hardware related problems and drive corrective action. Provides report metrics for Test Engineering, TIC & QIC meetings. * Provides and interprets data for various departments (ie. QA, TE, ME, PE, Mfg, etc...) * Performs machine calibrations on a defined schedule. * Monitors and maintains the operation of machine vision systems. * Troubleshoots machine related and process-related issues. * Preforms scheduled preventative maintenance tasks and demand maintenance as required. * Drives vendors to resolve component inspection issues, including recommending upgrades for machine vision systems. * Evaluates machine performance, monitor and correct systemic problems. * Create and maintain programs for all AOI inspection systems for development and manufacturing needs. * Review and update assembly readiness form for all planned production builds. * Edits, debugs, and optimizes inspection programs using programming 'Best Practices'. * Monitors and corrects systemic programming issues. Identify and record major/minor program changes. * Maintains component libraries and component model definitions for machine vision systems. * Must gain thorough understanding of machine vision algorithms. * Supports line move qualification process. * Assists with quoting new business by providing programming related information. * Identifies and corrects discrepancies between quoted cycle times and actual run rates. * Evaluates new equipment, programming tools and assists in the preparation of proposals for equipment purchases. * Mechanical and electrical comprehension of AOI systems is critical. * Computer and networking hardware knowledge are a must. * Works safely always and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules. * Administrates spare parts database, maintains stock and orders spare parts. * Primary manufacturing support for resolving software, hardware and program related issues. Assisting Machine Support in resolving program related issues. * Experience with Windows and/or Linux operating systems. * Provides training to Manufacturing machine operators, Machine Support technicians and AOI programmers. Education & Experience Requirements Associate Degree in electronics or computer science OR technical certificate OR equivalent education with an emphasis on machine vision systems required. Associate Degree or greater is preferred. Advanced communication, reading, writing, and math skills. Advanced PC skills, Microsoft Office applications, SQL database, including proficiency in Jabil's software packages. Knowledge of computer hardware and maintenance. Minimum of three years of relevant experience in programming in any of the following AOI, SPI and/or other Machine Vision systems and applications. Ability to read and understand blueprints, manufacturer's drawings, equipment manuals and component datasheet specifications. Advanced mechanical skills, ability to work with various hand tools and various electronic measuring devices.
