GENERAL DUTIES

I.T. Senior Associates perform highly complex professional work in technology-related disciplines.

While areas of specialization vary, typically I.T. Senior Associates perform a range of work in development/programming, communications, technical support, or similar functions depending on the needs of the Information Technology area to which they report. Work tasks include diagnosing, evaluating, overseeing and resolving highly complex projects. They have wide latitude for independent initiative and judgment and may serve in lead roles on complex programs or projects, and/or serve as a direct supervisor of a unit or group.

I.T. Senior Associates should demonstrate mastery of one or more technology-related disciplines, decision-making ability in situations related to those disciplines, and be able to serve as a resource in these areas. They may contribute to decisions on I.T. policies and technical standards.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

The Programmer is a critical member of the IT staff and reports directly to the Director of Enterprise Applications. The selected candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with a cross-campus functional team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Uses warehouse data to solve organizational problems through reports, scripts, and API integration.+ Assists in coding and content update efforts for the campus website. Understanding legacy application code with minimal assistance and resolving bugs/defects/performance issues therein are essential responsibilities.+ Provides enterprise wide SQL Database expertise with emphasis on data design, access, usage, security and quality of information assets.+ Develops and troubleshoots applications and integration using the Microsoft SQL server platform and providing technical/production support.+ Works with product owners and other development team members to determine new features needed in new/revised applications.+ Creates and updates documentation in support of development efforts.

    Documents may include detailed specifications, implementation guides, architecture diagrams or design documents.+ Performs technical troubleshooting, code debugging, and problem solving for college website and custom-built data reporting solutions.+ Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues.+ Communicates regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security and optimized performance at the application and database level.+ Participates in and supports all custom application planning and problem resolution.+ Works collaboratively with end users to support reporting systems that provide accessible information for decision-making.+ Performs independent audits and reviews and validates databases to ensure data integrity.+ Maintains an accurate and comprehensive inventory of data, data systems, and data storage.+ Processes data extracts using data retrieval and management tools.+ Ensures optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information.+ Develops stored procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and views using SQL. Creates scripts to build new databases.+ Assists with other duties as assigned.+ Essential duties require on-campus presence.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1.High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent

2.An equivalent of ten years of experience post-high school that can be met by one of the following: ten years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology related position; an Associate's degree plus eight years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position; or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution plus six years of full-time work experience in a computer or technology-related position

3.Demonstrated English Language proficiency

4.A Motor Vehicle Driver's license, valid in New York State, may be required for some, but not all positions.

This title has three levels. In addition to the minimum qualifications above, To qualify for Levels 2 and 3, additional qualifications, such as education, experience, or certification relevant to the area of specialization are required.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • 6+ years hands-on experience with database development using SQL.+ Writes efficient SQL queries to support data gathering requirements.+ Strong scripting abilities and understanding of complex stored procedures, views, data aggregation/manipulation. through table joins/queries, database design, normalization and de-normalization techniques.+ Experience working directly with senior leadership.+ Possesses strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.+ Demonstrated attention to detail focusing on ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the data warehouse and the individual work units.+ Ability to prioritize competing demands and effectively manage multiple tasks and/or projects.+ Possesses strong oral and written communication skills, clearly and accurately communicating complex and/or technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.+ Self-motivated--able to work within a project-based environment.+ Works effectively in a team environment, conceptualizing and developing new programs and web applications.+ Expertise with programs within multiple inter-related systems, using techniques and languages, such as C#, C++, .NET 6, WebAPI, JSON, Java, JavaScript.+ Strong knowledge of Visual Studio, .NET 6, Web API, JSON, SQL.+ Experience with participating in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and troubleshooting App performance issues.+ Experience with performing tests to optimize performance and building reusable code and libraries for future use.+ Demonstrated experience in data extraction and manipulation.+ Demonstrated skills in maintaining documentation related to assigned web applications, programs and other systems.+ Experience exchanging data with a variety of platforms and systems.+ Possesses an in-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development, and deployment).+ Familiarity with front-end languages JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Vue/React or equivalent framework a plus.+ Agile development experience a plus.+ Working knowledge of R and/or Python a plus.+ Android and/or IOS app development a plus.

$99,599
