Working with content that ranges from the most amazing mac and cheese recipe to the biggest trends on the runway at New York Fashion Week, you'll be joining a hard-working, ambitious team that is determined to help our readers live a better, more fulfilled life. You will be creating content that spans Food, Style, Beauty, Wellness, Travel and Living.

You will work on, one of the most trafficked sites in the U.S., and integrate seamlessly into the social team while collaborating daily with the programming and audience development teams.

Our ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the way each social media site ticks from the right length of a Facebook headline to the perfect Tweet to catch a user's eye. The candidate can optimize images for different social platforms, is a self-starter, is passionate and has an incredible eye for detail. He or she is a problem-solver who operates quickly and flawlessly.


  • Write headlines and articles, curate video content

  • Create and curate highly-shareable, social-first content to reach new audience

  • Monitor breaking news in the Lifestyle space, identify viral stories

  • Manage posting on AOL Lifestyle social accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram

  • Brainstorm and execute social strategy across tentpole events in the Lifestyle space

  • Track and communicate social performance and growth

  • Manage traffic exchange and growth partnerships

  • Manage paid partnerships through promotion on the front page


  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, goal-minded team environment

  • Very strong copywriting and editing skills with an eye for headlines and impeccable attention to detail

  • Innovative, creative and curious with the confidence to share your ideas and take initiative to bring them to fruition.

  • Avid user of social media in your own personal life and a passion for digital

  • Experience using social media tools like Sprout Social, Hootsuite or Crowdtangle, Content Management Systems (CMS), and Photoshop a plus.

Reporting to Dr. Chunhua Weng, the contact PI of the NIH-funded eMERGE grant, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, the incumbent is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing computerized systems to integrate genomic knowledge into electronic health records. The project involves selecting, extracting and processing public genomic knowledge from various online databases, understanding and streamlining the data flow for generating and disseminating genetic tests reports within Columbia University Medical Center, extracting key data elements from these free-text genetic reports, and integrating the genomic information into our electronic health record systems for providing decision aids to clinicians and patients. Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience. Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant Experience in web development, SQL Server Data Management, Perl, Python, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, SQL, and Unix. Special consideration given for familiarity with Web 2.0 technology and graphic design.
