If you understand software and applications programming and industry requirements, Robert Half Technology has an open Programmer Analyst position that you should apply for. You will be responsible for creating and defining systems scope and objectives. In this role, you would provide recommendations for developing or modifying applications or databases, using research and fact-finding. This long term temporary-to-fulltime Programmer Analyst opportunity is found in Sandy, Utah. What you get to do every single day

  • Analyzes user requests for systems changes or improvements. Documents functional requirements and assesses cost, feasibility and utility. Develops recommendation as to how, when or whether to proceed with making the changes

  • Guides internal clients on applications, systems and/or processes for identifying and resolving, processing/reporting programming problems. Provides consultation through troubleshooting and/or education

  • Creates and updates dictionaries for applications and systems support by the analyst

  • Provides ongoing training and assistance for end users and other partner groups for a particular application, system or process

  • Evaluates and records problems. Collaborates with other programmers to fix issues with code

  • Collaborates on establishing communication materials for specific system changes being implemented in production

  • Create and test programming changes for every systems development phase prior to implementation. Write test cases and expected outcomes. Review results and verify that requirements are met. May develop simple tests or a defined subset of larger tests. May recommend acceptance/rejection if requirements are not all met

  • Analyzes processing procedures. Develops recommendations for improvements


  • Proven success acting in a project management capacity

  • Strong familiarity with HTML

  • General familiarity with Agile project management

  • JavaScript experience preferred

  • Ruby on Rails experience desired

  • Experience with jquery

  • Adeptness in CoffeeScript

  • CSS experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of object oriented design

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • 3+ years experience as a project leader for the business portion of developmental applications or major systems improvements

  • Good working understanding of programming languages

  • Proficiency in PC and mainframe hardware/software
