Responsible for developing and maintaining college administrative application software which includes assisting in system design, writing, and maintaining computer programs. Providing logic/debugging support, quality assurance testing, file design, system interface of hardware and software, security, client/staff training, and assisting in conversion of legacy systems to new applications.

Consult with clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, and features.

Develop, maintain, customize, code and debug applications. Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic coding, testing, changes and corrections.

Work with a complete range of assigned activities, program through analysis with the principal emphasis toward the programming end and able to work complicated projects.

Coordinate with clients, vendors, and consultants on timelines, testing, documentation, support, and implementations.

Perform requirements analysis, systems design, programming, testing, support, implementation, and documentation for application development, enhancement, and maintenance projects in an effective and efficient manner.

Problem analysis and resolution, and report preparation and presentation.

Responsible for the operational effectiveness and efficiency of assigned programs and/or systems to include the development and implementation of operational and college procedures.

Support and assist all clients in all facets of the information system process.

Research packaged systems and programs for college opportunities to include recommendations on alternatives, acquisitions, and financial impact.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application. 

2. Effective (written and oral) communication skills. 

3. Ability to process and analyze information accurately.

4. Highly effective troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills. 

5. Must be detailed oriented and possess strong creative abilities.

6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

7. Effective interpersonal and organizational skills.

8. Knowledge of college, administration and department policies and procedures.

Special Conditions:
1. The El Paso Community College is building a pool of Applicants for part-time staff positions. This pool will be accessed when an opening arises. Your application will remain active for approximately one (1) year from July 2023 to June 2024. After this time, you will need to re-apply if you are still interested in remaining a part of the pool.

2. This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215; the successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal background check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College's policies and procedures.

3. Job will require irregular or extended work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

4. Must be able to travel to different locations throughout the district using own transportation.

5. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. 

6.Open until filled.

Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees. All academic coursework and degrees must be from an accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework.

Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.
