Programmer Analyst

The CyberLife Team within Life and Annuity Systems is seeking an entry level Programmer Analyst for our Galveston, TX location. The successful entry level Programmer Analyst will become skilled in constructing basic programming solutions to support enhancements, new development, and maintenance of our CyberLife.

What You'll Do

• Demonstrate an ability to communicate with business representatives

• Understand business requirements and can relate these to the supporting system requirements producing technical specifications for the work to be done

• Code and unit test readable, reliable, and maintainable programs

• Review test results with peers and business representatives to ensure solutions meet the specified business need

• Provide optimal service to all internal and external customers

• Respond promptly to production issues by serving in the team's on-call rotation for the 24-hour support of the team's systems

• Work occasional night and weekend hours to meet target dates

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Business, or Mathematical related field

o Basic knowledge of Visual COBOL, DB2, SQL Server, Java, or Client Server technologies is a plus

o Accounting, valuation, and/or product development is desirable

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

• Desire to work with others in an open, collaborative environment
