MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1.Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by

an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education

Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of

Education (USDE). Major course work in Business Administration,

Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field

preferred. Each year of experience as described below in

excess of the required five years may be substituted for thirty

semester hours from an accredited college or university on a

year-for-year basis.

2.Five years full-time, wage-earning experience in automotive or heavy

equipment repair or maintenance or metal forming and fabricating or

overseeing automotive or heavy equipment repair or maintenance or metal

forming and fabricating.

3.One year full-time, wage-earning experience in the supervision

of employees or offenders.

4.Correctional custody or law enforcement experience preferred.

5.Successful completion of the current Texas Department of Criminal

Justice freight transportation road test. Road test will be scheduled

after the interview process.

  • Must have or be able to obtain a valid Class A Commercial

Driver License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement within 120

days of the date of employment.

Must have or be able to obtain a valid CDL Medical Examiner's

certification statement within 120 days of the date of employment.

Must be registered with the U.S. Department of Transportation

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Drug and Alcohol

Clearinghouse.

Must maintain valid license and certification for continued

employment in position.

Selected applicants without required license(s) must sign a

Credential Contingency Agreement that will remain in effect only

until the initially established expiration date. Failure to

comply with this contingency statement will result in separation

from employment. Credential Contingency Agreements will not be

extended or renewed as a result of an employee's separation from

employment or acceptance of another position.

The salary for an ERS Retiree (or non-contributing member) will

be $4,080.20.

The following Military Occupational Specialty codes are generally

applicable to this position. Applicants must fully complete the

summary of experience to determine if minimum qualifications are met.
