Prepares, assembles, and correlates information into requested formats or creates format for data.
Processes incoming and outgoing materials.
Edits documents, composes letters and reports, and reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness.
Coordinates scheduling of facility space within the regional office.
Identifies requirements for equipment within the regional office and forwards for action.
Provides input on staffing and budget requirements for SSD activities.
Maintains official station control log/history file for circulars, bulletins, and memoranda.
Establishes and maintains files and records for the division.
Prepares access requests for division employees.
Assists other users with regards to applications and selection of appropriate formats and procedures for correspondence preparation.
Reviews correspondence for accuracy, format, and appropriate usage of grammar.
Performs duties of a government purchase card holder to include securing the card, maintaining receipts and other supporting documentation, and reconciling transactions timely.
Assists the primary Transit Benefit Manager in program administration.
Monitors and reports time and attendance for division employees.
Performs PIV Official Role duties.
Receives all division visitors and callers and provides the appropriate information or refers to the appropriate operating element.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Multiple SF 50s may be submitted to verify time in grade.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/07/2018.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05.
The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: To support your claim that you have the required time-in-grade, you must submit your most recent promotion, within-grade increase, or appointment SF-50. If you previously held a higher grade, you must also submit any SF-50 showing that grade. DO NOT submit Award SF-50's or General Adjustment SF-50's. However, General Adjustment SF-50s can be submitted for a current SF-50 which is needed to determine eligibility. Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Reviews information submitted and evaluate for appropriateness and applicability to required information. Assembles reports into requested formats or creates format for data.
Serves as the interface between Administrative Section and customers within the office regarding equipment inventory information. Assists with formulating financial requirements for all areas of responsibility.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining files and records for the office. Performs office automation duties using such software applications as electronic mail, calendar, DOOR data input, word processing, spreadsheets and automated time & attendance applications.
Identifies correct accounting or budget object codes as purchase card holder.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.
This position is a part of the Roanoke VA Regional Office, and is located in the Support Services Division (SSD) of the RO, where the incumbent provides program ,technical and administrative assistance to the SSD Chief and other subordinate management within the division.
The work is mostly sedentary; however, there may be some physical effort such as standing, walking, bending, and/or carrying of light items such as files, books, and supplies. The work requires no special physical demands.
There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
